Making music at The World's End
If you've seen [The World's End](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World's_End_(film)) then you may recognise this pub that was used for the one in the title and is featured at the end of the movie. It's actually called The Wilbury, but was The Gardener's Arms when they filmed there.

It's just a few miles from my home and lies on the edge of [Letchworth Garden City](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letchworth). This was used for several of the movie locations along with Welwyn Garden City. In some scenes the characters switch between the two towns within a scene. A friend's house was used for some scene, as were the local cinema and station. Ironically Letchworth used to have very few pubs until the 1950s as it was established by quakers.

I was there last night for a new open mic session organised by my friend Jon. It was mostly people I know plus an older guy who played some comedy and folk songs. Not a huge audience, but we need word to get around.

I thought it was an okay movie and it was fun to spot the local locations. Simon Pegg has gone on to be in some really big movies so I wonder if he will get support to do more of his own

Love old pubs ! they really take me back to my glory days long before i had my 2 sons now 26 and 29 ! Lol ! Looks like a great time playing music , we used to cheer on my mom playing guitar and singing back in the day at Keroke nights every Saturday at the First Litre Pub ! We have some really old pubs around here, but many are shutting down as people just don't go out as much. I think it's a tough business to survive. Our music sessions may help them a little.
