Sunday Run - Checking out the building sites

One of the joys of running is that you get to see more of your local area than most people. I expect it's only the dog walkers who see as much as the runners. I do vary my route a bit.

In our village/town of Arlesey (it's a point of debate) there is a major building project underway that will add hundreds of houses. This is just the start of it. Everyone knows about this one as it's on the main road.

I take a track around the back of one road where I noticed a site had been cleared. It looks like a couple more houses could go in there.

My run was an extended version of my usual Sunday loop. You may have seen the shorter one is basically a square. Not sure breaking a record for August is significant as I've only done one other run this month so far. I use [Endomondo](https://www.endomondo.com). I started using it years ago when it was on special offer. I've since paid for the premium version to get extra stats. It's okay apart from the spurious max speed.

The run went pretty well. Unlike last week I managed to at least start off with sub-6 minute kilometres. Later on I walked a little and stopped to take the photos. I wanted to go far enough to get a 10km time. I'd like to get that down a bit.

It's still fairly warm here, but we're not getting the extremes that other parts of Europe are suffering from. High 40s Celcius is tough to endure. I hope everyone is okay.

That stinks that the temperatures are still quite high.  We are finally getting to a point where things are a little more normal.  If the humidity can just stay down, we should be fine.  I used to love walking around the neighborhood I lived in and taking a different route each time.

Don't be silly, if we couldn't complain about the weather I think the world would stop turning.  Like you have said, many people don't have A/C, so that makes it even worse.  We usually open up our house if it is below 80 and not humid.  Anything above that and we generally have the A/C on.

Oh dear, that building project is a bit of an eye sore. No doubt it will look great in the end.

I'm amazed you continue to run despite the heat. I was walking around London yesterday, and I was covered in sweat. Just walking.

I know we're being babies, cos the rest of Europe is sweltering, especially Cordoba, in Spain. We always get it coolest when it's hot, and hottest when it's cool. The benefits of being an island nation, I suppose. :)

I had planned to get out again today as it has been a week since I last got out.  Stuff got in the way though so it will have to wait.  Mr Stav is taking the little Stavettes to her parents for a few days so hopefully there will be little stopping me getting out over the next few days (other than the heat).

Lots of building going on everywhere these days.  Hopefully they're building some good affordable housing.  All such projects in Bucks seemed to be for big executive properties so useless to those most in need of a roof over their head.

Wow great running dude, keep it up! I find It’s super rewarding to push yourself like that and keep motivate - plus it feels great! 😀 what a nice day to be outside running too. 

It seems like new building sites are popping up everywhere nowadays.,, my dad lives in Somerset and over the past 7 years the drive down there looks totally different with all of the new estates etc!

If I went out for a run I would probably dry of dehydration... It's 50ºC atm (122 ºF for you Americans)! Waiting for better weather to actually restart running again! I especially love running out in the countryside, I always found cool stuff, last time I scared away a herd of cows! Just imagine what it feels like scaring away what was probably around 100 cows! they all ran from me!
