## [Worldometers](http://www.worldometers.info/) displays live counters that are constantly moving either up or down and can give you a fairly accurate picture of what's going on with world population, energy consumption, world internet users and even how much money is spent on illegal drugs in the world. 

The screenshot below is shown as a static number, so it doesn't give you the same sensation as looking at the live counters which are flipping and increasing before your eyes. So, it's really worth it to take a look at the site. Here's one frozen counter that shows media-related data:

It's pretty clear that it would be a good idea to legalize drugs since people will use them no matter if they are legal or not. The numbers helped me see this in a clear way. People will always try to alter their own brain chemicals, especially if they are maladaptive in some way. If relief cannot be found in a natural way, drugs will always be the go to rescue. This will never change.

When you view the live counters, you get a sense of the rhythm of change and differing number flows. Here's a great description of why Worldometers chose to use live counters instead of static numbers:

>When using static numbers to describe numerical change through time, we fail to provide a sense of the relationship between the magnitude of change and the flow of time, which is how we experience change in real life. What static numbers fail to provide is the perception of the frequency and timing of events, the rhythm, an essential part of nature and a tool for understanding the physical phenomena surrounding us.
