Welcome to the 15th episode of the stemng digest series where we bring to you some of the best posts under the #stemng tag in the past week. Let me first of all apologised for presenting this week's digest a bit late, I have been trying to recuperate from malaria for the past few days. Hence, I took a few days break from steemit in order to rest properly.

For those that do not know yet, stemng is a sub-community of steemSTEM, a community-driven project which seeks to promote well-written and informative Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics posts by Nigerians on Steemit. The project involves submitting quality STEM-related posts to the steemSTEM management for upvoting and resteeming where applicable.

There is no doubt that malaria has been a menace within the tropics and all hands are still on deck in order to reduce the menace. The disease, caused by a protozoan parasite claims more lives than the HIV virus annually, talk about a silent killer. A little knowledge about the protozoa and its vector carrier might actually go a long way but gave us more than just a little.

There is no doubt that electricity is indispensable to our everyday life and there are different ways to go about generating it for our different use. Generation from water, hydroelectricity is one of the ways. Here in this article, @temitayo-pelumi explained the fundamentals of of hydroelectricity. Something to keep us going.

We have had some really beautiful engineering-based articles within the stemng tag in the past and this week's submissions are not in any way of lesser qualities. AMong them however, this post by @adetola in which he beautifully explained and analysed the pneumatic system and how they are unique from the hydraulic system. If not for steemit, I might never come across these knowledge in years to come. God bless the founders and all stakeholders of steemit.

The importance of internet in this age cannot be overemphasize. In this post by @henrychidiebere, the principle and analysis behind the back bone of internet, the fiber optics was simplified. A good read that I would recommend to anyone.

It seems the number of steemstem authors adopting @mobbs 'what I learnt this last week' style just increased with this piece from @mrbreeziewrites. A compilation of some new and unique scientific discoveries that took place all within the stretch of a week. Won't it be wonderful to keep up to date with discoveries? Experience and happenings have taught me that no matter how deadly a disease outbreak is, some percentage few would still survive. Who would have thought there are some particular group of people that can never contract the Human Immune Virus, an organism that causes AIDs? Move over to the blog above and educate your mind.

Capping the selection this week is this post by @churchboy on the male testosterone. I feel every man hoping or planning to get married or is married should have a good read of this article. What does being married does to the male's testosterone? For those that do no know about the male hormone before now, this is also a good opportunity to get educated.
