Steemit could really use some great promotion from mainstream news outlets, but I am worried about one thing. Once people find out that it takes several days to get their account registered, won't they just leave? 

Same thing happened with a friend of mine, who is waiting almost a week to get a confirmation mail.

100,000 is a huge number.. each of us should celebrate playing a role in raising this massive number of content creators. This is the influence blockchain is having of all fields of profession. Earning for each time you spend playing a specific role is what #steemit is giving to the public. You invest your time, write good content, like another user's content and get paid for each of those. These numbers in 2 years is just the beginning, it's going to be much more after the next 2 years. I wonder whether facebook will still be a social networking platform when the whole public goes #steemit. I know what he means about the stone age on Facebook.  Face book just seems old and stagnant after spending time on Steemit. I mean how many times can I see a picture of what you had for lunch and remain interested? Time for a change and Steemit is it.
