 My youngest son and I were hiking on a trail in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest along the McCloud river. We reached the National Forest boundary but decided to press on. The trail grew faint at times but eventually led us to this unusual place.  click here for a full screen view <a href="https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZqWwYvUs36dAeV7qdhdeTT4C6G74aUaBLGfLdHbyX1ww/IMG_1120.JPG"></a> There was what seemed to be a natural circular depression. In the center of a small round clearing was a stone fire ring. The depression was probably 50 feet across and the stone walls were probably 8 to 10 feet high.  The panoramic picture doesn't do it justice. Here is the wall on the left.  And the wall on the right. We both instantly felt a strange vibe. Which eventually became a bit uncomfortable, almost eerie. Have you ever stumbled upon a place in the forest that evoked feelings like these?

That is an interesting little find. We call them "fairy circles" when we find anything like that. The most amazing one I ever found was near Tulum, Mexico, where there is a barely excavated ruin. I think it was the "temple of the jaguar" or something like that. There was no fee, no guide, and the two times I visited there was no one there but us. You talk a long walk through dense jungle down a very old, Mayan road until you come to a rather small temple. I was almost sure there was still a priest living there, although there was no physical evidence for that feeling. I just felt like he was right THERE, behind a tree or just down the path... I asked my husband if he had heard or seen anyone, he said he had not but he also felt like someone was nearby. Years later we took our kids on a trip to that area and went back to that ruin, I wanted to see if I felt that presence again. I had never mentioned it to anyone else. My son was 20 yards or so ahead of me, and when I was getting close he was standing there, frozen. He said "Someone is here." I asked if he had seen someone or heard them? He said he had not, he just was really certain someone was there...
