<div class="text-justify">Ah, another Netflix StandUp special. Incredible. It has been a minute since I actually wrote about anything movie or show-related. It turns out that being a data analyst doesn't afford you anytime to do personal stuff. Oh well. A few days ago, I renewed my Netflix plan recently and decided to check what was new, and Chris Rock's special was definitely something. This is not going to be much of a review, but mainly about a particular Oscar event last year (or so).</div>

#### Selective Outrage

<div class="text-justify">I am a fan of corrosive, in-your-face typa humor. Dark, and unapologetic. The type of humor that comes out funny but beneath the humor carries a profound message. The last Standup I saw which was by Ricky Gervais delivered, and so did Chris. Chris was respectful, but he did not hold back. He made jokes about the "work" people (never gets old). About the Kardashian, Elon Musk, and even his own family. Albeit, he does use a lot of cuss words which I don't have a problem with, but I do feel it can be unnecessary sometimes. Most times, it just looks like Chris Rock being Chris Rock, so you can fault him for that. He even still made jokes about the 'entanglement' of Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett. Now let us get to the interesting part.</div>

#### The Will Smith x Chris Rock Saga

<div class="text-justify">In March 2022 during the 94th Academy Award, award presentation Chris Rock made a Joke about Jada Pinkett, Will Smith's wife which prompted Will Smith to walk up the stage and slap the comedian. The altercation caused a lot of stir on social media, as some people felt he was justified while others thought he was out of line. Chris Rock talked about it on his special and he said the exact thing I said when it happened; <b>Selective Outrage</b>. People always tend to get agitated when its convenient for them, or when their image or reputation is on the line. If the presenter was Dwayne Johnson, I'd bet a million bucks Will Smith wouldn't hit him. But I guess it is what it is. The crowd was buzzing when he made that joke, and during the section, he started talking about the whole episode, he got a lot of reactions. An absolutely classy act.</div>
