Many are the musical games that inhabit the market, both Asian and Western, in this case we move away from Japan to tell you about another of my favorite music video games, which cannot help clarifying its intentions with the name, because we are in front of the best existing tribute to the music of Michael Jackson, an artist who was surrounded by both success and controversy, but those are issues that I prefer not to deal with here, so let's focus better on the video game in question.

Michael Jackson: The Experience is not a single video game, but more like a collection of different versions released over the years, it started with 3 different versions, one for Nintendo Wii, one for Nintendo Ds, and the last one for PlayStation Portable, each one adapted to the capabilities of each device, later the same thing happened with PlayStation VITA, Nintendo 3DS, iOS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so it was available on almost every active console during the past decade.
The Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 version have a dance system similar to Just Dance, not for nothing both games belong to Ubisoft, but on Xbox there is a limitation that it only allows one player at a time, and has different choreography to the other two versions despite being a similar system, with the addition that it detects the entire body and not just the movements of the control in the hand.

On the other hand, in the other consoles we obviously cannot shake them to score points, so Ubisoft & CO opted for different approaches, in Ds the gameplay is similar to Elite Beat Agents or osu!, in PSP the buttons appear in a row and we must press them in the order that corresponds, in 3DS and PSVita we make different strokes as they appear on the screen, and so on.
But I can't talk about all the versions at the same time, it would take me a while, so I will focus on the one that in my perception is the best, the Nintendo Wii version.
In addition to having a large number of songs, as I said, it allows up to 4 players at the same time, if we have a large enough room of course. You can't miss some of the King of Pop's biggest hits, like Beat It, Billie Jean, Bad, Thriller, Leave Me Alone, and a long etcetera.

When I checked the criticisms of the game, some media gave it low ratings because the game does not explain for sure how to play it, which if you allow me the comment is quite unnecessary, that is, we are in front of a DANCE game, I don't think that a detailed explanation on how to play is necessary.
However, the controls could not be simpler, as there are no controls, exactly as in Just Dance, you only need to take the WiiMote with your right hand, put on the safety strap and make sure you have enough space around it to avoid natural disasters, broken teeth and things like this...

Once with the control in hand, it is enough to choose a song, and if there is more than one dancer, choose the one of our preference, some have more difficult choreographies than others of course, finally only the most obvious remains, DANCE.
You do not have to press any button during the choreography, or do anything strange, you just have to follow the movements of the character on the screen as if it were our reflection in the mirror, based on how we do it we will get more or less points, there are even movements special called Gold Moves, which if we hit them will give us a generous bonus compared to normal moves.

At the end of each song we can obtain up to 5 stars, in addition to leaving our best score recorded so that a friend or ourselves can try to overcome it later, little else is offered in this section since from the beginning we have at our disposal the complete catalog of songs of the game, what does encourage us to play and accumulate all the possible stars, is the additional mode called Dance School.
More than a game mode, it is actually a compilation of basic and advanced videos of real dancers, which teach us how to perform some of the most iconic and remembered steps of Michael Jackson, such as the Moonwalk without going any further.

I have not used these videos at all, but if someone wants to learn for sure how each step should be done, this additional content will surely be very useful. As always I like to mention with these types of games, they are a very good way to avoid sedentary lifestyle, so if you are fans of Michael Jackson's music, you should not miss the opportunity if you have not tried it yet, if not, you always have other options on hand like Just Dance.

Muchos son los juegos musicales que habitan en el mercado, tanto asiáticos como occidentales, en este caso nos alejamos de Japón para hablarles de otro de mis videojuegos musicales favoritos, el cual no puede dejar más clarar sus intenciones con el nombre, pues estamos enfrente del mejor homenaje existente a la música de Michael Jackson, artista ya fallecido que estuvo rodeado tanto de éxito como de polémica, pero esos ya son asuntos que prefiero no tratar aquí, así centrémonos mejor en el videojuego en cuestión.

Michael Jackson: The Experience no es un solo videojuego, sino más como una colección de diferentes versiones lanzadas a lo largo de los años, empezó con 3 diferentes versiones, una para Nintendo Wii, otra en Nintendo Ds, y la última en PlayStation Portable, cada una adaptada a las capacidades de cada dispositivo, posteriormente sucedió lo mismo con PlayStation VITA, Nintendo 3DS, iOS, PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360, así que estuvo disponible en casi cada consola activa durante la decada pasada.
La versión de Wii, PS3 y Xbox 360 tienen un sistema de baile similar al de Just Dance, no por nada ambos juegos pertenecen a Ubisoft, pero en Xbox existe la limitación de que solo permite a un jugador a la vez, y tiene coreografía diferente a las otras dos versiones a pesar de ser un sistema similar, con la adición de que detecta el cuerpo completo y no solo los movimientos del control en la mano.

En cambio en las demás consolas obviamente no podemos sacudirlas para ganar puntos, por lo que optaron por diferentes acercamientos, en Ds el gameplay es similar al de Elite Beat Agents u osu!, en PSP los botones aparecen en fila y debemos presionarlos en el orden que corresponde, en 3DS y PSVita hacemos trazos diferentes según aparezcan en pantalla, y así sucesivamente.
Pero no puedo hablar a la vez de todas las versiones, me llevaría un buen rato, así que me enfocaré en la que según mi percepción es la mejor, la de Nintendo Wii.
Además de tener una gran cantidad de canciones, como ya dije permite hasta 4 jugadores a la vez, si es que tenemos una sala lo suficientemente grande claro está. No pueden faltar algunos de los éxitos más grandes del Rey del Pop, como Beat It, Billie Jean, Bad, Thriller, Leave Me Alone, y un largo etcetera.

Cuando revisé las críticas del juego, algunos medios le dieron calificaciones bajas debido a que el juego no te explica a ciencia cierta como jugarlo, lo cual si me permiten el comentario es bastante innecesario, es decir, estamos enfrente de un juego DE BAILE, no creo que sea necesaria una explicación detallada sobre como jugar.
Sin embargo, los controles no podrían ser más simples, pues no hay controles, exactamente como en Just Dance, solo necesitan tomar el WiiMote con la mano derecha, colocarse la correa de seguridad y asegurarse de tener espacio suficiente a su alrededor para evitar desastres naturales, dientes rotos y cosas como estas…

Una vez con el control en la mano, solo basta con elegir una canción, y si hay más de un bailarín, elegir al de nuestra preferencia, algunos tienen coreografías más difíciles que otros por supuesto, finalmente solo queda lo más obvio, BAILAR.
No hay que estar presionando ningún botón durante la coreografía, ni hacer nada extraño, solo hay que seguir los movimientos del personaje en pantalla como si fuera nuestro reflejo en el espejo, en base a como lo hagamos obtendremos más o menos puntos, incluso hay movimientos especiales llamados Gold Moves, que si los acertamos nos darán una generosa bonificación en comparación a movimientos normales.

Al final de cada canción podremos obtener hasta 5 estrellas, además de dejar nuestra mejor puntuación plasmada para que un amigo o nosotros mismos intentemos superarla más adelante, poco más se ofrece en este apartado pues desde el inicio tenemos a nuestra disposición el catálogo completo de canciones del juego, lo que sí nos incentiva a jugar y acumular todas las estrellas posibles, es el modo adicional llamado Dance School.
Más que un modo de juego, en realidad es una recopilación de videos básicos y avanzados de bailarines reales, los cuales nos eneñan como realizar algunos de los pasos más icónicos y recordados de Michael Jackson, como el Moonwalk sin ir más lejos.

No he recurrido mucho a estos videos, pero si alguien desea aprender a ciencia cierta como se debe realizar cada paso, este contenido adicional seguramente les será muy útil. Como siempre me gusta mencionar con este tipo de juegos, resultan en una muy buena forma de evitar el sedentarismo, así que si son fans de la música de Michael Jackson no deben dejar pasar la oportunidad si aún no lo han probado, si no, siempre tienen a la mano otras opciones como Just Dance.
