>This is an in-game cinematic, again, *this is an in-game cinematic*

It's been a while since I made my post about Monster Hunter World, by that point I would have about 20 hours accumulated, maybe, I wouldn't know, but since then I've played a lot and accumulated almost a total of (almost) 150 hours, so I have a more experienced view of the game, and yet I can tell you that I feel I'm just scratching the surface of everything it has.

The first time I added a gameplay of my first steps in the game, this time that will not be repeated as I have no recent gameplay, but I'll share with you my favorite screenshots, or some of many, of everything that has happened during these 100 hours approximately since the last post, as a recommendation, if you prefer not to see what awaits you in the game, I advise you to leave the post here, thank you very much for stopping by, if you don't mind, welcome.

Throughout its history, Monster Hunter has had the same core gameplay, you hunt monsters to create armor and weapons to go and hunt bigger monsters, sometimes there are quieter gathering missions in between, but the game's forte is hunting, as its name may suggest, so each installment is usually very continuist, World is no exception, with the difference that it adds an incredible amount of things that, once you go back to try a previous Monster Hunter, you will surely miss more than one of the novelties of World.

>Mods are the best

If I had to summarize what World has that previous Monster Hunter games don't have, I would summarize it in "quality of life improvements", things that could be a little more tedious or take more time in previous games here is much better optimized and respects your time, for example, something as basic as the ability to leave the button pressed to collect objects and the character keeps collecting until they can't anymore, previously you had to see the start and end of the collection animation every time you wanted to collect something, be it monsters, minerals, herbs, etc, this was greatly accelerated and simplified, now you don't need to have tools occupying space, if you see a resource, you can take it, it's that simple, your only limit is the space in your inventory.

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/23uQvT5R7sZu1QQhiWt2ux1eJLsg4BDkNKC2jnZHkJ16gJvTFip371mCU1JwZVW9gBNTR.jpg" alt="20221224030311_1.jpg">
</center>

There are many little details of this style that I could highlight, things that if you're like me, you will miss in an older game, so I don't want to spend the whole post talking about what the game allows you to do that others don't, let's move on.

World has a very enjoyable difficulty curve, there are no difficulty levels, the difficulty is in the equipment you use, how much you want to equip yourself before proceeding to face the monster that follows, you can go with the same armor until the monsters knock you out in one hit, or you can farm new armor and upgrade it as much as you can to make it more enjoyable, this of course involves more farming than the first method, but in my experience you can finish the base game without the need to spend hours farming for a single armor, this is something that has also been greatly facilitated and the truth is that if there is something I hate in a video game, is (excesive) farming, so I appreciate it a lot.

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/23tbRQTwArB1tZJPuL88v4ZDXEWdgb7bPdTJzWJ6bceavAWWWpF1pmGs9iM6t9a3EkWwB.jpg" alt="20221211034924_1.jpg">
</center>

If you decide to take the "standard" way, it becomes a very enjoyable game, with marked difficulty peaks at times when there should be a difficulty peak, the most satisfying thing of all, is not only when you finally defeat that monster that cost you so much, is to keep playing, go back later, and see that now you beat the shit out of it with immense ease, it's a heady feeling and makes you want to commit acts of abuse against the monsters at the beginning of the game, but you can't stay there forever, so let's move forward.

The biggest threat at the start of the game is Zorah Magdaros, a giant elder dragon with a mountain of lava on top, which is a threat to the ecosystem of the island on which the game takes place, so the hunters guild must investigate what he's doing there and where he's going, and if you notice I said that Zorah Magdaros is the biggest threat "at the start" of the game, because once we complete his mission, we'll realize that the scale of Monster Hunter World never stops increasing, if you thought it was incredible to "fight" against an elder dragon, imagine that now you must go looking for three more, after you leave those three, another one appears, and so on, each one more imposing than the previous one, with more colorful attacks and added difficulty.

>Images taken just before the tragedy

At the beginning everything is summarized in creating a set of armor better than the one you have, a better weapon, and go out to fight against everything that moves to repeat that cycle, but as you advance the thing gets more complicated, it isn't enough to put on the best armor you find, you must study what each one offers you, the added abilities they have, and the spaces for jewels that they offer you, the jewels offer a plethora of buffs or skills that work actively or passively, for example, jewels to ingest healing items faster, or jewels that under a probability, do not consume a healing item you use, can increase your attack, affinity with weapon elements, save you from a mortal blow, and a long etcetera, a very VERY long etcetera.

</center>

The experience varies a lot from if you play alone to if you do it with company, I haven't done the maths, but I think 90% of what I've played in Monster Hunter World has been cooperatively with someone else, I can play it solo but I don't enjoy it the same, but out of that, it's a more challenging experience as you must know more of the monster you face, since it will have the attention on you most of the time, the other percentage will be focused on your comrade Felyne, moments that you can take advantage of to heal yourself or sharpen your weapon, which as an added fact, in MHW the sharpening stones are infinite, you can sharpen and sharpen until you get tired and they will never run out, you also don't have to worry about buying more stones each time, so I find it as a positive change.

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/243fpYBtoSVFmGjoa4xLqNEntYkYbzPS4WXwYRTF1VXxDgojYUGgazNi2YdHeaRBRXvfr.jpg" alt="20221210025839_1.jpg">
</center>

I'm currently playing the expansion of World, Iceborne, which adds new moves and the ability to use the slinger, with which you can move better through certain areas and climb on the monsters to soften their body parts and do more damage per hit, all this you can do from the beginning of the game if you have the expansion, but I didn't buy both things at the same time, so I've lived the experience with and without the possibilities offered by Iceborne, without having it you won't notice that you are missing something too important, but once you make the leap is impossible to look back.

I still want to leave this post as an invitation to give a chance to such a wonderful game, so I'll save myself from putting too compromising screenshots and I'll take more advantage of showing you how nice the game's photo mode is, it pisses me off that Capcom puts that watermark, but worse is nothing haha, thank you very much for reading, I hope you liked it.

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/23tGXuUUaW5cqTKigYtfU7nw1wg8J5phEY9GShQaB6VJ9wLy2A4kAUfYrB1hd5ABXB7on.jpg" alt="20221226011232_1.jpg">
</center>

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/23uQvT5R7sZu1QQhiWt2ux1eJLsg4BDkNKC2jnZHkJ16gJvTFip371mCU1JwZVW9gBNTR.jpg" alt="20221224030311_1.jpg">
</center>

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/23tbRQTwArB1tZJPuL88v4ZDXEWdgb7bPdTJzWJ6bceavAWWWpF1pmGs9iM6t9a3EkWwB.jpg" alt="20221211034924_1.jpg">
</center>

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/244eNtERZfFU8dU7iL3uwn91jqtx6pjswXpBFDeJB5x4vMq2Qqj3TEGVAtRVS1Fg2UnXS.jpg" alt="20221218174537_1.jpg">
</center>

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/23t74yHRUbiNK6iZrbNLhDmhf9viPJXscfWygKmBz3SiteYGEVfV85CQavQVxC4qVchwJ.jpg" alt="20221210055254_1.jpg">
</center>

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/243fpYBtoSVFmGjoa4xLqNEntYkYbzPS4WXwYRTF1VXxDgojYUGgazNi2YdHeaRBRXvfr.jpg" alt="20221210025839_1.jpg">
</center>

<center>
<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/stk-g/242DNjQipkDwkPQ8dDUDFjeZx4g7kmAi6TE4Q56BQpSPudwPSPTHT5Q7mLouovmDt8hdi.jpg" alt="20221202010450_1.jpg">
</center>

@asynckronism ·
Monster Hunter World was a huge step for the series, It is difficult to go back to an older game but sometimes the simplicity of a hunt from previous entries is exactly what I want in a Monster Hunter game.

Glad to see a fellow Hunter posting! having somebody to consistently hunt with makes the experience so much better, I am glad they added the 'S.o.S' feature for drop in / drop out players but knowing one another's playstyle ensures you wont get in each others way during combat.

Happy Hunting!

@stk-g ·
Since I saw MHW from the first time I knew I was goint to like it, I wasn't wrong haha.

Indeed, S.o.S are useful, but as I always play with friends from the beginning I haven't used it at all, still, a nice function, thanks for your comment!

Older MH games never hooked me until World, I think you'll like it haha, it does have a lot of improvements as I said.

@therealflaws ·
