Easy Berry Pie [English - Spanish]

An impromptu and simple to make pie, that was very delicious.

The berries were a 1kilo (2lb) bag of frozen strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and redcurrants bought from the local supermarket. I soaked these in some peach gin and sugar for a day or so.
I had some jam left over from making cherry pie last weekend, and mixed that in as well.

The pastry was home made, as the supermarket was all out of ready made.

I used plain flour, lard, and some sugar. This took about ten minutes to make, and then it rested in the fridge. As you can see from the pictures it made and extremely short pastry which crumbled a little too much for my liking, as it led to that very messy top. It did however taste nice and using lard instead of butter (like I normally would) gave the pastry an extra crispness, despite it being so crumbly.

The pie baked in the oven for about 40 minutes and the pictures show it just out and ready to serve. 

I love the way the filling has bubbled up round the edges. It looks far more rustic than what I generally like to aim for, but this was to be a quick and easy little treat and did the job wonderfully. 
we ate it with some cream, and it was universally enjoyed. There'll probably be a fight over who gets to finish it tomorrow.

Una tarta improvisada y sencilla de hacer, que estaba riquísima.

Las bayas eran una bolsa de 1 kilo de fresas, moras, arándanos y grosellas congeladas que compré en el supermercado. Las dejé en remojo con ginebra de melocotón y azúcar durante un día más o menos.
Me sobró mermelada de la tarta de cerezas del fin de semana pasado y también la mezclé.

La masa era casera, ya que en el supermercado no quedaba nada preparado.

Utilicé harina normal, manteca de cerdo y un poco de azúcar. Tardé unos diez minutos en hacerla y luego la dejé reposar en la nevera. Como se puede ver en las fotos se hizo una masa muy corta que se desmoronó un poco demasiado para mi gusto, ya que dio lugar a esa parte superior muy desordenada. Sin embargo, tenía un sabor agradable y el uso de manteca de cerdo en lugar de mantequilla (como lo haría normalmente) dio a la masa un crujiente extra, a pesar de ser tan desmenuzable.

La tarta estuvo en el horno unos 40 minutos y en las fotos está recién sacada y lista para servir. 

Me encanta la forma en que el relleno ha burbujeado alrededor de los bordes. Se ve mucho más rústico de lo que generalmente me gusta apuntar, pero esto iba a ser una rápida y fácil poco tratar y hizo el trabajo maravillosamente. 
Lo comimos con un poco de crema, y fue universalmente disfrutado. Probablemente habrá una pelea para ver quién se lo acaba mañana.
