The DAO is derived from a decentralized autonomous organization called Decentralized Autonomous Organization.

It is a system created by the developers of Etherium, including Vitalik Buterin, to build a decentralized network by operating artificial intelligence.

The composition of the DAO network varies. Here is a look at:

Autonomous Agents
Decentralized Applications (Dapps)
Decentralized organizations (DOs)
Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs)
Decentralized Autonomous Corporations
Fully Automated Business Entity (FAB)

All of these concepts are referred to as the DAO network.

Decentralized, autonomously agreed upon without any organization, processes are executed and moved to a decentralized system.

In the concept of a fund, you buy DAO tokens by investing in DAO funds.
