Why Do I Keep Steeming?

I keep Steeming because I live in a world where social media is mostly media and never social. The Steem community is different. We have our warts, and we carry our wounds, but if you are willing to engage other people you will find your kindness and curiosity reciprocated.

I keep Steeming because I have dreams and goals. I have a plan for the future, but I will not achieve what I am longing for and stretching towards if I do not practice every day in the present. Dreams can come true but rarely do they come to fruition without using energyy, time, and resources.

I keep Steeming because I can add value. There are people who need my encouragement, my knowledge, and my kind words. There are people that are asking questions who need answers. There are people who are walking the path I walked 2 hours ago, 2 days ago, 2 weeks ago, 2 months ago. They are looking for a guide, a mentor, a friend.

I keep Steeming because I need to capture my thoughts and meditate on my past, present, and future. The Steem platform and community have been FREE therapy. Battles rage in our minds. Emotions swell up from within. And sometimes we need a way, an outlet, a sounding board to covey hidden thoughts and suppressed feelings.

I keep Steeming because I hope for a better future. Maybe, just maybe, the time, money, and effort I have invested will be rewarded. Maybe, just maybe, the relationships I have built will be translated into relationships offline. Maybe, just maybe, my content will be consumed, valued, and rewarded.

I will keep pressing forward and I will keep Steeming!

Steem is a community where we can all contribute and add our value. I would prefer if they showed us rewards in Steem and SBD. I think this is far more relevant.

The balance between community and rewards is important.  I think both are possible, but I have seen good relationships turn bad because of issues with finances.  I hope that is not the case with the Steem community.

It'd be great to meet in person some day. I used Twitter in 2009 through 2015 or so to connect with people and then meet in person. It really helped my business. I think it may be possible to do something similar with Steemit, but I'm not sure. I think you've given it a good try and certainly you've been able to use it to express yourself and practice your writing.

Thanks for stopping by and for the encouraging words.  It is interesting how much I have been able to connect with other members of the Steem community.  Although most of those relationships were grown online, I was able to connect with some Steemians at a local meetup.  I am not sure if I can answer your question about growing a business through the Steem community.  Possible?  Yes.  Easy?  Not sure.
