If you don't hold it, you don't OWN it!! (and if you sell it you don't own it either (like me) :)

I had some unexpected expenses recently so I decided to turn some of my savings (silver) into cash to pay that bill and ***NOT*** go into debt.  So I grabbed 21.25 ounces of silver and took it to my LCS (local coin shop) to turn it into cold hard cash.

As you can see from the above graph silver price is currently $17.66 per ounce.   With the *majority* of the last two yeas falling below that price I am happy I got $17.17 an ounce for my stuff.

I know I did not make a killing on this and I am still HODLing most of my silver stack but I was so happy to be able to grab some of my savings (if you don't hold it you don't *own* it) and flip it back to USD to pay this bill.  

This is the reason I stack silver.  For me it is a savings account for the family that I can grab from storage at any time and use for whatever I might need.

Yep, those are the prospector rounds that everyone loves so much so if you have some cash you were going to pop in the bank why not try turning into a savings account that **YOU** hold, instead of the bank?

That’s awesome! I treat crypto similarly and use it like a bank in my pocket. Whenever I’ve got some bills to pay, I just pop some BTC out of my hard wallet and toss it into the Cash App where I can spend it with a debit card.

Being in US, it is easy to find a LCS,  convert your silver to fiat and even having nominal profit, according to how much you paid for it. To me, it is totally impossible. Our LCSs sell high and buy very low...

AWESOME. This is exactly why we save in silver! Ain't it great that you thought of putting away some of your fiat a while back in silver which allowed you to have that silver to sell. Precious metals are liquid. Awesome to have savings in silver.

It sucks you had to sell some silver now. I think we might be due a move back above $18.50 very soon.

Regardless of what price you got, this is the exact reason why most of us stack silver. We buy silver as a physical form of money, so when the SHTF we can exchange it to what ever form of fiat currency is needed and spend it.

I think it was @raybrockman that wrote a blog about the "value of the dollar" yesterday and for me silver will always be a hedge against inflation. 

Like what @ronaldoavelino said, is the same for me.... I may have some trouble should I want to exchange silver for fiat as there are **NO** LCS' around me that I can easily convert in. My plan is foolproof, until I come to selling!!

It's weird that you don't have LCS' over there that will buy at spot minus a dollar or two (which is common here).  Do these shops even have any silver to sell?  If so where do they get it?  Do people really come in and sell their silver for half of spot or something crazy like that!? God I fucking hope not.
