>**Update on the progress of the dream cafe: A day full of electrical and plumbing work**
## Hello friends
Today, I'm taking you to follow my afternoon activities at our dream cafe. This shop is the future that my husband and I are building with our own two hands. Today, it's time to update you on the construction work inside the shop.
Let me tell you that today was super busy because the main mission was to start building the kitchen counter. But before we get to that point, the most important thing to do first was to install the water pipes. Installing the water system is a delicate and very important thing because it will affect actual usage in the future. So my husband and I had to be extra careful in installing the various pipes according to the plan.
While we were busy installing the water pipes, the electrician we had made an appointment with arrived just in time. It was perfect timing because it was the time when we wanted to install the electrical system at the same time so as not to waste time. As soon as the electrician arrived, my husband and I immediately went to talk and plan with the electrician. We helped each other explain the various points where we wanted lights, whether it was lighting, lights for extension cords, or even lights for various kitchen appliances. We went through each point in detail so that the electrician would understand
and be able to work smoothly.
When the electrician received all the information,
everyone went their separate ways to do their own tasks. My husband and I returned to focus on the plumbing, while the electrician started wiring the various points we had suggested. The atmosphere in the shop today was lively with the sound of the technician working and the two of us talking and planning. Even though we were tired, we were very happy to see the image of our dream shop gradually taking shape. Today, we may not be able to show you the progress of the kitchen counter, but I assure you that the system work we did today is just as important as the other work. It is an important foundation that will ensure that our cafe will have water and electricity ready for use in the near future.
Starting to install the plumbing system by myself with my husband was a memorable and proud experience, especially when we chose the brass faucet that took me back to my childhood, when I was in primary school 1-6 at school. This type of faucet was familiar and was a part of the daily life of students at that time. We could drink water directly from the tap with peace of mind. It was a pure and simple memory.
When I walked into the convenience store in the market, my eyes caught sight of the brass faucet that I liked. Yes, this was what I was looking for. It was not only practical, but also a symbol of reminiscing about the warm past in my old school. Having this faucet in my possession gave me a little surprise. After getting the faucet that I liked, we started installing the sink that I bought from Thai Watsadu. The sink that I chose was designed to be placed in front, exactly where we were going to install the faucet. This step was a small challenge for the two of us newbies. Connecting the pipes, tightening the joints, and arranging everything in place took a lot of time and effort. There were some confusions and the wrong pipes were switched, but with determination and cooperation, we gradually fixed it one by one.
Finally, after several hours of trial and error, the sink
and the brass faucet were completely installed. The sight of a brand new sink with a gleaming brass faucet in front of it gave us both a small sense of great accomplishment. This wasn't just about installing appliances in our home, but about creating a little corner filled with stories and good memories. It also confirmed that even though we're newbies, if we put our heart into it and put in the work, we can create things on our own.
In the kitchen, installing the sink is another challenge that must be faced. Although this second sink is much easier to install than the first one, it still has some complications to deal with. Once the sink is in place, the next step is to connect the water pipes and run the plumbing system to the sink, as well as connect the water lines to the bathroom, both the shower and the sink. These tasks are full of confusion and mistakes that can always happen, especially for those who are not very skilled in mechanics. Small accidents can happen all the time, like the incident that happened this time. While working diligently, an unexpected accident happened when I accidentally opened the hot glue cap and the glue splattered on my hand. In shock, I grabbed a sponge to wipe it, causing the sponge to melt together with the hot glue and stick to my fingers. Smoke rose along with the pain that was so severe that it was almost unbearable. Although time will help relieve the pain, this incident emphasizes that accidents and ignorance can happen at any time. An important lesson learned this time is that sponges cannot be used with hot glue. For this reason, the counter installation work had to be temporarily halted because the plumbing work was not yet complete. My husband was the main person responsible for the work, while my role was as an assistant who picked up the tools and provided small assistance as much as possible. Even though it was just a small accident, it was a good reminder that caution and understanding of materials and equipment are important. It is very important in all types of mechanical work.
The queue of "Bathroom Zone" is another important area that we pay attention to the details very much. Today, our main work is on the plumbing system. We run the water pipes directly to the bathroom zone. And most importantly, we connect the sink faucet to the kitchen faucet. I must say that it is a delicate and complicated job because there are many pipe connections. I have to admit that I am not good at it and I am very confused when helping my husband with this part. But I tried to take pictures of every angle to share with my friends.
In addition to the plumbing work that we are doing diligently, today we also installed other important components in the bathroom. Starting with installing the bathroom mirror and sink, we drilled holes in the wall to hold the equipment firmly. And what is very special is making a shelf for bags or items for customers (making the shelf from lightweight bricks).
This is something that the author has always had a problem with when traveling. When using a public bathroom, there is usually no place to put bags or mobile phones, which makes it very inconvenient. Therefore, having a shelf in the bathroom of our cafe is a great way to increase convenience for our customers. I hope everyone will like it and see the attention to small details here.
Of course, construction always has work that needs to be done continuously. Today, there are still some tasks that are prepared but have not been started, such as installing the bathtub (sanitary ware) and installing the shower, which are expected to be done tomorrow. Today, let's hope that the plumbing work is completed first. As for installing the various counters, it should start tomorrow as well.
