It's a widely known cliche that money is the root of all evil. Even though tyrants in history especially in recent times have all been the biggest money-haters, the mass sentiment of the populace still believes *money* is to blame for many of the worlds problems. Not only is this plainly wrong, it shows a superficial understanding of the role of money, as well as of evil.

The idea of subjective value has been stated as a principle of economics, though to me, it just seems like some simple common sense stating how every single person is different in what they value. When it comes to making value accessible to the average person, money can be a great equalizer as a medium of exchange. We often hear about the dangers of money being used to corrupt people, but this is beside the point. Money in itself, does not corrupt anything or anyone; surely it's frequently used as a vehicle for corruption, although the people under the control of these means are corrupt to begin with.

What these men seek is control, having the power over others and at any expensive. I think it's completely justifiable to blame monopolies, corporatism, and other State sponsored economic advantage on these domination based range of values. On the other hand, those who truly want liberty understand the importance of the individual having absolute access to economic means in which money can be universally used. It's no coincidence how the controllers push for "cashless societies" and making income widely available, essentially drowning out any real connection and usability toward money. In this type of idealized society, authority in all it's expressions whether through formal credentials, rank, or degrees would become the ultimate gauge of value.

The ruling elite doesn't like a free market of money because they know that whoever controls capital is able to determine how the allocation of goods and services will be provided. If this is taken care of by voluntary means, the State looses what's seen as it's *uncanny* ability to confiscate the wealth of society to provide for the "greater good". As I have said [elsewhere](https://steemit.com/life/@superfluousman/finding-your-cultural-milieu), commerce brings random people together that normally wouldn't associate with each other, to this end creating peace and prosperity; and this is the prime example of how value can be provided by money.

Man, you're on a roll, this is such an incredible post! I completely agree with you. Money is actually the great equaliser, if it is what it is meant to be, that is, an honest system of weights and measures. It is actually how we free ourselves from corruption and tyranny, not the root of those.

It is no coincidence that the most evil in our society has been done by those who undermine honest money, the central bankers, Keynsians and, like you say, those who make it their goal in life to siphon off others' productivity for the "greater good".

What terrifies me so much today is how saturated Western society is with socialist ideas, and how popular they are especially with young people. I'm worried we're sleepwalking into another red terror.

Thanks. Yeah, and may even rub off on some people as they believe being honest through money is not "how it's done"; that they might as well go along with the prevailing doctrines in order to best get what they want. Total corruption.

It's been creeping for a while now only becoming more accepted as a way to go about things unfortunately. Although, there are always divisions between peoples and culture that I think will remain outside the realm of the controllers. They might be a small number, dispersed globally yet still growing and creating more ways to live as free as possible.

More than money, the problem that I see is really in its use, and how people give excessive value to money due to social materialism. When a person is willing to pervert all their values for a couple of coins. Although in these cases, the problem is not in money, but in people.
