Generation 30+. Why my friends from school are getting married and have children while I buy a new surfboard? Trying to promote a single´s life.

<p>Do you know that sensation? While I am worried at most about tomorrow and don´t have any clue about my future, it seems like people next to me are several evolution steps ahead. Every year my single friends are less, and I am wondering if they are right or if I am. &nbsp;</p>
<p>I actually don´t feel these 35 years which – according to my documentation – I am carrying on my shoulders. I think I just learned how to be responsible for myself which means: don´t take any decisions too quickly, don´t trust anybody at first sight, have my own opinions and stand up for them without being afraid of critics, don´t spend money on unnecessary stuff (this doesn´t include surf equipment since it is always needed) etc. Knowing that I feel recently settled in my small world, it seems impossible for me to imagine assuming responsibility for another life. Not yet. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h1>Tic Tac</h1>
<p>The complicated part about being a woman is that from time to time you start feeling the pressure of your biological clock. A big “tic tac” is trying to keep its position and replace all these crazy ideas running through your young mind. But where does this “tic tac” sound come from? Who does it transmit? &nbsp;</p>
<p>It´s the society, folks. During a lot of generations there have been well established social standards, and a single woman at an age of 35 who likes surfing doesn´t match very well with this pattern. So what? Now what should we do? What do we do with her? &nbsp;</p>
<p>I am really happy that there are constantly upcoming more travellers, adventurers and pattern-breakers. Like that one doesn´t feel completely crazy or badly off. Our doubts just disappear, and we can smoothly go ahead with what mostly makes us happy. In my case it´s the water. I get nervous and obnoxious if I cannot ride waves during some days. How might this be having a family? Who would stand me? &nbsp;</p>
<h1>The world is yours &nbsp;</h1>
<p>We are a revulutionary generation. While our parents were born into families who had the idea of living in the same village during their whole life, getting married with the daughter of the family next door and working at the same stable company for decades, we have broken down these walls to discover a world even bigger. Thanks to globalization, actually there are no borders neither limits anymore, and we are invited to explore new grounds whenever we want to. No matter how fare away our new home might be. &nbsp;</p>
<p>The question is where does this liberty lead to? What is the consequence of living wherever we want to, speak the languages we like, start relationships with strangers and new cultures that inspire us, do a work that best encourages our creativity and eat what tastes good? It leads us to an uncoupled and instable a lost and volatile life. With positive words: we life an open and inspiring, a free and fulfilled life. Where´s the problem though?? &nbsp;</p>
<p>A child may be inspiring in the same way a journey to a country abroad might be? Absolutely! The question is not if one of these ways is better, more appropriate or compliant. The question is: what do you want? What is it that makes you happy? &nbsp;</p>
<p>We´ve got just one life – at least one we´ve been aware of so far. So we don´t have much time to get in trouble and complicate things not exactly knowing what to do. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h3>The only thing which matters is that you know your destiny. You don´t need to know how to explain or justify your decision, it´s untouchable since this is the one and only life of yours.&nbsp;</h3>
<h1>Don´t dream, live!&nbsp;</h1>
<p>The media is an expert when it comes to make people believe that they need a big dream. In fact this is very American. The TV talent shows are the best example. The bigger and more ambitious the dream the better you should feel. Maybe it will take you your whole life (or even more) to achieve that huge goal, but no worries. People get lost being behind something and by the time they forget about the real life. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h3>While you are looking far away towards your unknow future, you might miss these little shiny moments in the corner of your eye.&nbsp;</h3>

<p>So let´s stop being behind something we have defined as this one and only dream. I don´t want to cause misunderstandings: I am not saying that it´s not important to pursue an objective. But please chose it on your own, let it be realistic, accessible, adapted to your possibilities. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h3>You don´t have to impress nobody but yourself. You don´t have to match with any pattern but the one you have designed on your own.&nbsp;</h3>
<p>And if I could recommend you something as a personal goal: &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>LEARNINGS AND GROWTH: Learn as much as you can about as much as you can, open your mind, gain experiences, leave your comfort zone, travel, travel and travel, study foreign languages and cultures, meet people and starting from all these acquisitions: develop your own personality. Every single day. Be curious, ask, doubt about what you see and hear, don´t be satisfied with the minimum, demand what you deserve, have your own opinion and have the courage to present it, don´t try to be liked but act to impress. Yourself.&nbsp;</strong></h3>

@surfermarly I resonate with this article.
I was born in Argentina, and left to travel the world in 2012. I'm 29 and I have two sisters, (31 and 28), they both are married with kids, my mother is already expecting for me to give her grandchildren. Though, I am not sure if I am ready to take care of a child at this point of my life, as I am focused on expanding my art and, I also feel like having a child could stop me from traveling as free as I'm used to (little money, hitchhicking, rainbow caravaning, etc).  
I really feel like the "biological clock" is a propaganda to make women rush to have babies and then keep us away from actually self developing, and being truly free.

ha!  I like the marry young so you can be divorce.... etc. I did divorce in my 30's .. i wasn't so happy though but am married again and very happy, very adventrous in life. 
I married very young, spent a lot of wasted time regretting all the expreinces I missed by marrying and having children so young.. but then
