Happily Never After - Part One

This quote always had made me feeel tha that its storytime. But what story is it? Do you remember Rapunzel being trapped in a tall tower, or Cinderella being the maid in the house, or Aurora living a commoner’s life while being a princess; the good little girls, the damsel in distress, get saved by their knight in shining armor and lives happily ever after. This is my story, but aren’t you curious about what I am in this narrative? A protagonist, an antagonist, or an innocent bystander? You’ll find out soon.

A typical fairytale evil stepmother, yea that’s what I am! You think I’ll feel remorse over the things I did, guess again. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon; I worked relentlessly and studied hard. I dreamt about being successful and constantly looking up at the tallest building. You sure realized I sound vain, greedy, materialistic; since when life has been that easy for anyone? I used all my merits and every quality that I possess. But I would not sell my soul to the devil.

I was a perfect negotiator, very charming and convincing; helping businesses to merge. That is when I met Him and the subsequent challenge; my fiancée. I helped him acquire an already sinking company at a price all parties were happy and our story began. Although I had half a mind to settle down, his proposition was quite tempting to overlook. And then came the challenge, his meddling kids; not kids, they’re all grown up spoiled rich brats who had everything in their life and not an ounce of appreciation, and I’m supposed to take care of them. What a joke!!

Cory, Gia, and Eli; the jock, the prom queen, and the nerd. The first time I went to meet them, the eldest ungrateful rugrats left and only the nerd joined us for dinner. That prom queen was giving me a stink eye, not for long dearie. I told my fiancée to make me CEO of his corporation; since he’s managing the corporation alone, he thought it would be a great idea. And then, like the lightning strike, Gia intervened and said it should be her position. And then after a screaming match between the 3 of us, we decided that we both will work to bag a client and whoever wins will be the CEO. Oh well, as if the prom queen knew how to handle business. She didn’t even know who she was up against. GAME ON.
