An e-cigarette is a portable, handheld, electronic device that gives user the feeling of tobacco smoking through the smoke it creates by heating the chemical liquids present in it, which may or may not contain nicotine.

In the past decade or so, E-cigarettes have taken the Western world by storm, in particular- the teenagers and young adults. Recently, the trend has caught wind among Indian youths as well.

Here's why e-cigarettes could be more harmful than we think?
>1. New addiction
Quitting an addiction is a great idea. But starting a new addiction in the form of an electronic, chargeable 'smoking' device, to let go of an existing one, is plain stupidity.

>2.. Cancer
E-cigarette suggests that the toxic substance in the liquid might increase the risk of developing cancer. It is said that these harmful compound could result in increase in heart rate due to the presence of nicotine, and that chemical in e-cigarettes' aerosols may lead to DNA damage and mutagenesis.

>3.. Respiratory health
Long term electronic smoking among teens and young adult could lead to increase coughing and wheezing among them, and may also worsen asthma symptoms. Presence of ultra-fine particles, flavorants, and even metals, could damage lung cells, and lead to several respiratory health issues. Study show's this could also damage vital immune-system cells.

There have been so many harmful effects of E-cigarette as normal cigarette. So we must try to keep ourselves away from both types of smoking.
