&nbsp;&nbsp;Las tradiciones navideñas forman parte integral de nuestra vida, una de las más resaltantes que seguimos en mi familia es la celebración del Día de los Reyes Magos. Esta fecha simbólica para la cristiandad seguramente se convirtió en un evento de nuestro país por la influencia cultural española, eso la verdad no puedo afirmarlo con convicción lo que sí puedo contarles es que desde muy pequeño mi abuela me enseñó a rendir homenaje y ofrendas a estos míticos personajes religiosos. Este aprendizaje llegó a un punto tan arraigado en mi formación como ser humano que sin dudas he transmitido a mi familia y especialmente a mi hijo.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Sin embargo, debo aclarar que con el tiempo la tradición se adaptó a la modernidad y yo en lo personal  no la veo de forma religiosa, sino más bien como una oportunidad para compartir en familia una rica cena y por supuesto la parte más importante es hablar sobre los planes futuros y esperanzas que el nuevo año trae consigo mientras disfrutamos de un rico postre.

&nbsp;&nbsp;En los tiempos de mi abuela la celebración se hacía con la tradicional rosca del Día de Reyes, pero a mí en lo particular ese postre no me llama mucho la atención y a mi esposa e hijo tampoco, por algún motivo el pan dulce y la mezclas  de frutas confitadas no es para nosotros, así que como les mencioné anteriormente la tradición fue modificada y la adaptamos a nuestros gustos en postres manteniendo claro esta esencia de la unión y el amor, lo cual para mí es el centro y corazón de la familia.

&nbsp;&nbsp;En este enero empezamos nuestra búsqueda de opciones para decidir qué postre degustaremos el Día de Reyes, no les mentiré el tema de dinero fue un factor crucial y determinante para la elección, lamentablemente las cosas han subido mucho de precio y encontrar una opción sabrosa de tortas en pastelerías a un precio que pudiéramos pagar fue una labor titánica que ameritó horas de investigación y consulta por parte de todos los integrantes de la familia.

Finalmente, encontramos una opción amigable y con al menos algo de lo que estábamos buscando a un precio más aceptable, no en una pastelería sino de la mano de una amiga que tiene un pequeño emprendimiento de dulces en su casa, de esta forma logramos encargar un brazo gitano o enrollado español como prefieras llamarlo con base de chocolate y crema chantillí decorado con cerezas, ahora ya entiendo ese viejo refrán que habla acerca de la famosa cereza sobre el pastel.
 
Esta peculiar preparación con toques caseros está inspirada en la receta tradicional alemana de la torta Selva Negra según me contó la repostera que la preparó, pero por supuesto ella le dio sus toques personales, añadiendo algunas cosas adicionales.

En primer lugar, quiero hablarles de la base del panque, esta es una fina capa de bizcocho de chocolate esponjoso al cual le humedecieron con una preparación dulce similar a un almíbar que tiene un ligero toque de brandy o ron, la verdad no sabría decirles exactamente qué licor era, pero le daba un toque especial sin duda.
 
El relleno y la decoración estaban hechos con la tradicional crema blanca batida tipo chantillí famosa por su sabor dulce y contextura cremosa que encanta a los paladares especialmente cuando está bien fría, como toque especial este relleno además tenía pequeñas chispas de chocolate blanco y negro lo cual contrastaba de buena manera con el sabor dulce del resto de los ingredientes haciendo un equilibrio perfecto en este postre casi mágico por su sabor y presentación.

Finalmente, la decoración estuvo bastante bien para el precio que pagamos por el producto, el toque con las cerezas dulces fue sencillamente genial y combinó muy bien con la gama de sabores propuestos sin llegar a abrumar a los sentidos.
 
Por último y para terminar la reseña de este postre quiero contarles que fue una experiencia muy buena compartir este delicioso postre de chocolate que rindió para unas 10 porciones delgadas aproximadamente y permitió mantener una vez más esta tradición familiar del Día de Reyes lo cual me llenó de mucha alegría y felicidad esperando que este año nuevo traiga mucha prosperidad y permita que nuestros deseos y los suyos también amigos de Hive se hagan realidad.

**This is my dessert on Three Kings Day **

&nbsp;&nbsp;Christmas traditions are an integral part of our lives, one of the most important that we follow in my family is the celebration of Three Kings Day. This symbolic date for Christianity surely became an event in our country because of the Spanish cultural influence, I can't say that with conviction, what I can tell you is that since I was very young my grandmother taught me to pay homage and offerings to these mythical religious characters. This learning became so deeply rooted in my formation as a human being that I have undoubtedly transmitted it to my family and especially to my son.
 
However, I must clarify that over time the tradition has adapted to modernity and I do not see it religiously, but rather as an opportunity to share a delicious dinner with the family and of course the most important part is to talk about plans and hopes that the new year brings with it while enjoying a delicious dessert.
 
In my grandmother's time, the celebration was done with the traditional Three Kings Day donut, but for me in particular that dessert does not appeal much to me and neither does my wife and son, for some reason sweet bread and candied fruit mixes are not for us, so as I mentioned before the tradition was modified and we adapted it to our tastes in desserts while keeping clear this essence of union and love, which for me is the center and heart of the family.  
 
This January we began our search for options to decide which dessert we would enjoy on Three Kings Day, I won't lie to you, money was a crucial and determining factor for the choice, unfortunately, things have gone up a lot in price and finding a tasty option of cakes in bakeries at a price we could afford was a titanic task that required hours of research and consultation by all members of the family.


Finally, we found a friendly option with at least some of what we were looking for at a more acceptable price, not in a bakery but from the hand of a friend who has a small sweets business at her house, so we managed to order a gypsy arm or Spanish roll as you prefer to call it with a chocolate base and whipped cream decorated with cherries, now I understand that old saying about the famous cherry on the cake.
 
This peculiar preparation with homemade touches is inspired by the traditional German recipe of the Black Forest cake according to what the baker who prepared it told me, but of course she gave it her personal touches, adding some additional things.
 
First of all, I want to tell you about the base of the pancake, this is a thin layer of spongy chocolate sponge cake that was moistened with a sweet preparation similar to a syrup that has a slight touch of brandy or rum, the truth is I couldn't tell you exactly what liquor it was, but it gave it a special touch without a doubt.
 
The filling and decoration were made with the traditional white whipped cream, famous for its sweet flavor and creamy texture that delights the palate especially when it is cold, as a special touch this filling also had small chips of white and dark chocolate which contrasted nicely with the sweetness of the rest of the ingredients making a perfect balance in this almost magical dessert for its taste and presentation.
 
Finally, the decoration was quite good for the price we paid for the product, the touch with the sweet cherries was simply great and combined very well with the range of flavors proposed without overwhelming the senses.
 
Finally and to finish the review of this dessert I want to tell you that it was a very good experience to share this delicious chocolate dessert that yielded about 10 thin portions approximately and allowed us to maintain once again this family tradition of Three Kings Day which filled me with much joy and happiness hoping that this new year brings much prosperity and allows our wishes and yours also friends of Hive come true.
