&nbsp;&nbsp; Hoy es el cumpleaños de Joaquín, un pequeño niño mexicano que arriba a los 7 años de edad.  Sus padres son personas de bajos recursos que trabajan mucho para tratar de llevar una vida estable, a pesar del gran esfuerzo que para ellos representa, han decidido remodelar un cuarto de la casa para que Joaquín tenga privacidad e independencia.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Con la finalidad de ahorrar lo más posible, compraron todos los muebles en una tienda de segunda mano que vendía cosas de remates judiciales. Así lograron adquirir con mucha emoción un fantástico juego de cuarto en madera negra repujada, acompañado de un gran espejo dorado por unas pocas monedas, cosa que les permitió terminar la decoración del cuarto por completo.

&nbsp;&nbsp; La misma noche de su cumpleaños Joaquín se mudó entusiasmado a su nuevo cuarto, aunque separarse de sus padres con quienes durmió desde pequeño no fue una tarea sencilla. En principio no le gustó mucho el juego de cuarto por su fúnebre color, además de viejo,  despedía un hedor repulsivo inexplicable como si algo se hubiese podrido en él, pero su mamá le aseguro que con buenos detergentes acabaría con el olor, el cual era solo por el tiempo que estuvo guardado, aunque nunca pudo eliminarlo por completo.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Today is the birthday of Joaquín, a little Mexican boy who turns 7 years old. His parents are low-income people who work hard to try to lead a stable life, despite the great effort that it represents for them, they have decided to remodel a room in the house so that Joaquín has privacy and independence.

&nbsp;&nbsp; In order to save as much as possible, they bought all the furniture in a second-hand store, which sold things from judicial auctions. Thus they managed to acquire with great emotion a fantastic embossed black wood room set, accompanied by a large golden mirror for a few coins, which allowed them to finish the decoration of the room completely.

&nbsp;&nbsp; The same night of his birthday, Joaquín excitedly moved into his new room, although separating from his parents with whom he slept since childhood was not an easy task. At first, he didn't like the room set very much because of its funereal color, in addition to being old, it gave off an inexplicable repulsive stench as if something had rotted in it, but his mother assured him that with good detergents he would get rid of the smell, which was just for as long as it was in storage, although he was never able to remove it completely.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Ya han pasado varios días desde que el niño trigueño de ojos color café y cabello negro liso estilo indio se cambió a su nueva alcoba, la noche de hoy hace mucha brisa, grandes nubes de lluvia con relámpagos y truenos anuncian la llegada de una feroz tormenta que pone muy nervioso a Joaquín. Por más que trata de tranquilizarse, el insomnio se apoderó por completo de su mente, no para de dar vueltas en la cama, sus ojos permanecen abiertos mirando al vacío en la oscuridad de la noche mientras sus párpados se hacen más pesados. El pequeño cuarto se ilumina fugazmente con la luz de una que otra centella, lo que precede al estremecedor ruido de los truenos que tanto asustan al pequeñuelo.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Son ya un poco más de las 3:00 de la madrugada cuando un perpetuo silencio se apoderó de toda la habitación, una sensación mucho más perturbadora que el miedo a la lluvia, recorre rápidamente el cuerpo del niño. Joaquín comienza a sentir como sus pies se congelan, y el olor a podrido se intensifica, al punto que casi está por vomitar, repentinamente siente como una mano golpea fuertemente desde el espejo, como si estuviese llamando a la puerta.

&nbsp;&nbsp; El niño ya está sumamente asustado, temblando se arropa con las sábanas hasta la cabeza, se siente paralizado por una energía maligna que lo hace incapaz de gritar o pedir ayuda. En el espejo redondo se siente una vibración con ondas que se expanden desde el centro, se ve como si se abre un portal convirtiéndose en un líquido espeso, denso, de un color oscuro y rojo realmente asqueroso.

&nbsp;&nbsp; It's been several days since the brown-haired boy with brown eyes and straight black Indian-style hair moved into his new bedroom. Today's night is very breezy, large rain clouds with lightning and thunder herald the arrival of a fierce storm. which makes Joaquín very nervous. As much as he tries to calm down, insomnia completely took over his mind, he does not stop tossing and turning in bed, his eyes remain open staring into space in the darkness of the night while his eyelids become heavier. The small room is illuminated fleetingly with the light of one or another spark, which precedes the shocking sound of thunder that frightens the little one so much.

&nbsp;&nbsp; It is already a little after 3:00 in the morning when a perpetual silence took over the entire room, a sensation much more disturbing than the fear of rain, quickly runs through the boy's body. Joaquín begins to feel how his feet freeze, and the rotten smell intensifies, to the point that he is almost ready to vomit, suddenly he feels like a hand hits hard from the mirror, as if he were knocking on the door.

&nbsp;&nbsp; The child is already extremely frightened, trembling, he wraps the sheets up to his head, he feels paralyzed by evil energy that makes him unable to scream or ask for help. In the round mirror, you feel a vibration with waves that expand from the center, it looks like a portal opens turning into a thick, dense liquid, a really disgusting dark red color.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Una figura fantasmal se materializa en el espejo, es como una sombra con forma humana que poco a poco va saliendo del portal hacia la habitación, a media que se abre paso a nuestro mundo va  transformándose en el cadáver putrefacto de un anciano, su rostro tiene espantosas llagas llenas de pus y sangre negra, el lugar donde debía estar su nariz es solo un agujero lleno de gusanos que se mueven contoneándose, repentinamente abre sus ojos secos y blanquecinos, visiblemente molesto, se sitúa sobre el pobre Joaquín que está al borde de desmayarse y le grita:

 <b><i>¡Sal de mi cama asqueroso niño!</i></b>

&nbsp;&nbsp; En ese momento un poderoso relámpago iluminó todo el cuarto, Joaquín se despierta de un brinco en la cama, y sale corriendo gritando con todas sus fuerzas en busca de sus padres para pedir ayuda, pero estaba seguro de que lo que vivió no fue una pesadilla.

&nbsp;&nbsp; A ghostly figure materializes in the mirror, it is like a human-shaped shadow that little by little comes out of the portal towards the room, as it makes its way to our world it transforms into the rotting corpse of an old man, whose face has frightful sores full of pus and black blood, the place where his nose should be is just a hole full of worms that move by wriggling, he suddenly opens his whitish dry eyes, visibly upset he stands over poor Joaquín who is on the verge of fainting and yells:

<b><i>Get out of my bed you filthy boy!</i></b>

&nbsp;&nbsp; At that moment a flash of powerful lightning illuminated the entire room, Joaquín woke up with a jump in bed and ran screaming at the top of his lungs in search of his parents for help, but he was sure that what he experienced was not a nightmare.
