Aprovechando que el tema se presta para hacer historias de horror, pongámosle sazón a esas patas de chivo, así que traigamos un dream team invitando a participar a mis amigos escritores  @universoperdido @roadstories @franchalad @universodaniel y @zeraton

&nbsp;&nbsp;En América, mucho antes de la llegada de los conquistadores españoles, había toda una civilización rica en costumbres y tradiciones, que a su manera había tenido contacto con entidades superiores del bajo astral, a las cuales por cierto, ellos también llamaban Dioses. La existencia del bien y el mal, no tiene una patente de exclusividad para los tiempos modernos, ni tampoco para lo que se escribió en la Biblia Cristiana o el libro sagrado de cualquier otra religión de la actualidad, desde esas lejanas épocas surgieron leyendas en torno a demonios y espíritus malignos que habitaban esos inmensos territorios desprovistos de población, haciendo cualquier cantidad de atrocidades y dotando de poderes extraordinarios a quienes tenían el atrevimiento de edificar templos en su nombre, o rendirles culto mediante sacrificios.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Eran sin duda momentos salvajes en el continente desconocido, guerras entre tribus por controlar los sectores más productivos, acontecían constantemente para hacerse con mano de obra esclava, mujeres o cosechas. Precisamente ese tipo de cosas es un atractor para el maligno, quien apareció para tentar al hombre desesperado, lleno de odio o avaricia, es el mismo argumento que lo identifica igual a una marca de origen, también son las mismas artimañas y poderes muy similares que solo pueden identificar a un personaje, tan antiguo como la creación, el rey del mal, el amo del averno, el diablo o cualquiera de los miles de nombres con los que se le ha conocido a lo largo de la extensa historia; este ente en su tránsito por estos parajes dejó a su paso un rastro de decadencia, maldad y oscuridad que trascendió a los años haciéndolo inmortal en leyendas de la tradición indígena.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Los rayos de un sol radiante, aprietan con fuerza sobre los obreros que se encuentran realizando el movimiento de tierra y la deforestación de un área montañosa, ubicada entre el hoy estado Carabobo y el estado Yaracuy.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Las altas temperaturas someten a la deshidratación los cuerpos de estos desdichados hombres, condenados por la dictadura de Gómez a trabajos forzados, para construir la nueva carretera que unirá varios pueblos en el occidente del país. La jornada es abrumadora y extenuante, las personas allí sometidas son dignos beneficiarios de las arcas del infierno, vagando entre quejas y llantos por estos solitarios campos, mientras avanzan la infraestructura con sus herramientas manuales.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Antonio, es uno de estos caballeros que vive en carne propia un sentimiento iracundo que lo alienta a destruir todo, pensando incluso en el asesinato como alternativa de escape, el ser víctima de crueles tratos y vejaciones por parte de los guardias, lo ha sumido a un paso de la oscuridad, quizás fue esa misma energía negativa la que lo condujo a toparse durante su jornada con lo que parecía ser un ídolo de piedra oculto bajo el manto de la tierra, fue algo bastante extraño, no cabe duda de eso, la pequeña estatua estaba enterrada junto al tronco oscurecido de lo que alguna vez fue un gran árbol antiguo, lo llamativo es que no tenía nada cerca, en ese lugar incluso el pasto estaba seco, ni siquiera los mosquitos podían sentirse en esta zona muerta, donde solo Antonio se aventuró a excavar.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Al tomar en sus manos el objeto, pudo sentir de inmediato como una energía extraña recorrió todo su cuerpo, era algo poderoso e intimidante, no menos perverso que las características de la piedra tallada en la que se definió el rostro, de lo que lejos de cualquier otra deducción, era un demonio de la época indígena.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Bajo la estatua, existía una inscripción en signos raros que el obrero no alcanzó a entender, pero que con astucia ocultó del resto del grupo y de los guardias que le custodiaban, este insensato presidiario sabe que de alguna forma, el poder místico que había sentido lo ayudará a escapar de ese sitio y cambiaría su destino para siempre, pretendiendo no importarle las consecuencias.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Esa fue una noche especialmente oscura y tétrica, al fondo podía verse el brillo de los relámpagos, en un cielo desprovisto de estrellas y colmado de nubarrones que hacían estruendos pavorosos, pero sin que se presentara en esta zona ni una sola gota de lluvia, por el contrario, ni siquiera el viento pasaba por este rumbo, solamente el calor agobiante se apoderó de todo mientras el hombre se adormece sumergido en el agotamiento, guardando bajo el saco de paja que usaba como almohada, la pequeña figura indígena.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Poco tiempo pasó, antes de que una horripilante pesadilla se manifestara de forma intimidante en su mente, mientras en sueño caminaba por el mismo sendero donde estaba ahora, pero en otra época mucho más antigua, el suelo se sentía pegajoso y húmedo al tacto de sus pies descalzos, Antonio avanzaba lentamente bajo una oscuridad casi absoluta, en sentido a una hoguera que se mostraba en la distancia y que por algún motivo le atraía.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Cuando ya estaba cerca del fuego, pudo ver como un hombre bañado en sangre levantaba en sus manos una especie de cordón lleno de orejas humanas, al tiempo que  rezaba en un lenguaje incomprensible, a algo que le hablaba desde las llamas.

&nbsp;&nbsp;En ese momento Antonio casi grita de espanto, pero la visión a su alrededor le advirtió que de hacerlo, sería descubierto. El líquido que sintió en el suelo era la sangre de las víctimas de aquel guerrero, que dejó esparcidos por todo este lugar un verdadero rastro de cadáveres mutilados.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Intimidado al extremo de temblar como una gelatina dentro de esa atroz pesadilla, el recluso continuó observando la escena que se mostraba frente a él, fue en ese momento cuando vio algo realmente aterrador, un pueblo entero había sido devastado y este guerrero entregaba mediante una ofrenda de orejas las almas recolectadas al Diablo en persona, un macho cabrío que estaba erguido en dos patas saliendo desde el fuego, para entregarle al indígena la estatua de piedra como premio por su trabajo.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Antonio, ahora si entendió el poder de lo que había encontrado, entonces el miedo absoluto desgarró su espíritu desde el interior, aplacando toda su ira, estando convencido de que esa posesión lo llevaría directo al infierno como seguramente lo hizo con su antecesor, ese guerrero asesino que, abonó con sangre de inocentes este sitio para su malvado amo.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Un golpe de truenos despertó abruptamente a Antonio de la pesadilla temblando y gritando despavorido, lo que llamó la atención de todos en el campamento que lo creyeron loco, cuando lo vieron persiguiendo con un cuchillo en la mano a una cabra salvaje que había llegado durante la noche, la cual mató sin contemplación, quemándola hasta sus huesos en una hoguera, junto con la estatua de piedra, al mismo tiempo que rezaba sin parar, orando por ayuda al cielo ante la mirada atónita de los presentes.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Al amanecer, todos los obreros lo ayudaron a colgar las patas de la cabra quemadas en un tronco seco, como recordatorio a cualquiera que se atreviera a cruzar por esa moderna carretera, de que el diablo también pasó por allí.

&nbsp;&nbsp; In America, long before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors, there was a whole civilization rich in customs and traditions, which in its way had had contact with superior entities of the lower astral, which by the way, they also called Gods. The existence of good and evil does not have a patent of exclusivity for modern times, nor for what was written in the Christian Bible or the sacred book of any other religion of today, since those distant times legends arose around demons and evil spirits that inhabited those immense territories devoid of population, doing any number of atrocities and giving extraordinary powers to those who dared to build temples in their name, or worship them through sacrifices.

&nbsp;&nbsp;When he took the object in his hands, he could immediately feel how strange energy ran through his whole body, it was something powerful and intimidating, no less perverse than the characteristics of the carved stone in which the face was defined, of what, far from any other deduction, was a demon of the indigenous era.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Under the statue, there was an inscription in strange signs that the worker could not understand, but that he cleverly hid from the rest of the group and the guards that guarded him, this foolish prisoner knows that somehow, the mystical power that he had felt will help him escape from that place and change his destiny forever, pretending not to care about the consequences.

&nbsp;&nbsp;That was a particularly dark and gloomy night, in the background you could see the brightness of lightning, in a sky devoid of stars and filled with clouds that made dreadful rumblings, but without a single drop of rain in this area, On the contrary, not even the wind passed this way, only the oppressive heat took possession of everything while the man dozed off, submerged in exhaustion, keeping under the straw sack he used as a pillow, the small indigenous figure.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Little time passed, before a horrifying nightmare manifested itself intimidatingly in his mind, while in sleep he walked along the same path where he was now, but in another much more ancient time, the ground felt sticky and wet to the touch of his bare feet, Antonio advanced slowly under almost absolute darkness, in the direction of a bonfire that showed in the distance and that for some reason attracted him.

&nbsp;&nbsp;When he was already close to the fire, he could see how a man bathed in blood raised in his hands a kind of cord full of human ears, while praying in an incomprehensible language, to something that spoke to him from the flames.

&nbsp;&nbsp;At that moment, Antonio almost screamed in horror, but the surrounding vision warned him that if he did, he would be discovered. The liquid he felt on the floor was the blood of the victims of that warrior, who left a trail of mutilated corpses scattered all over the place.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Intimidated to the point of trembling like jelly inside that atrocious nightmare, the inmate continued observing the scene that was shown in front of him, it was at that moment when he saw something terrifying, an entire village had been devastated and this warrior was delivered using an offering of ears the collected souls to the Devil in person, a goat that was erect on two legs coming out of the fire, to deliver the stone statue to the native as a reward for his work.

&nbsp;&nbsp;Antonio, now if he understood the power of what he had found, then absolute fear tore his spirit from within, placating all his anger, being convinced that this possession would take him straight to hell as it surely did with his predecessor, that murderous warrior who, with the blood of innocents, fertilized this place for his evil master.

&nbsp;&nbsp;A clap of thunder abruptly awoke Antonio from his nightmare, trembling and screaming in terror, which caught the attention of everyone in the camp who thought him mad, when they saw him chasing with a knife in his hand a wild goat that had arrived during the night, which he killed without contemplation, burning it to its bones in a bonfire, along with the stone statue, at the same time that he prayed without stopping, praying for help to heaven before the astonished gaze of those present.

&nbsp;&nbsp;At dawn, all the workers helped him hang the burnt goat's legs on a dry log, as a reminder to anyone who dared to cross that modern road, that the devil also passed that way.
