Hello all! I'm a couple of months behind of where I wanted to be to position myself for this coming bull run as it's hit a bit quicker than I anticipated. I learned quite a bit from the previous run, which thanks to ST**M/Hive/LEO allowed me and Isaria to buy a house, vehicle, and have a nice cash nest-egg. I've been mainly adding to my stocks and ROTH IRA and have had a pretty good run with +26% on Roth and +30% on my brokerage. The rest of the cash has been sitting in a 5% savings account. The idea was to earn that guaranteed 5% until the run started, the problem is, it started a few months ago instead of mid-February like I had thought. No worries, if this one is anything like the last, it's still early in the cycle and there will be plenty more gains to be had. However, this time around I'm going to approach things a bit differently as I certainly profited quite a bit last run, I made some *BIG* errors that hampered the margin. I don't have exact numbers, but I believe I left around $60 or more on the table by jumping in to Defi and being a slight degenerate. (One rug-pull lost me about 50k). Ouch. So what did I learn? I learned that while degen can be fun, it's not something one should do if you can't be at your computer 24/7. I would have been overall better off staying in BTC/ETH just watching the numbers climb in an orderly fashion instead of looking for pinball scores. There's some missed opportunity costs I'm dealing with as well, I haven't been active on #hive in a couple of years and while I was never a post whore, I'm sure I missed out on quite a bit of news/development and having fun with the mods in Palnet. Anyway, my current Crypto holdings are what's here on #hive and #inleo with my toes in the water with a few shares of BTC ETFs (Is that really crypto? Probably not, but it's adjacent, so I'm counting it.) If anyone has any pointers on what's the new hotness, give me a shout in the comments. Well the bull isn't due to start in September and the elastic band on all the alts is being pulled really tight. Starting around September the market should go pretty much nuts. It won't really matter what you are holding even garbage will be flung up. The big bandwagon is obviously AI cryptos. There is an alliance forming between FET, Ocean and another (which I forget) which with the news being all over the place means these are really volatile but could (potentially) make news in the mainstream. Just pick anything that is NOT in the top 20 and sell the lot at the end of March 2025. It may go higher after that but it's a risk. Even if it does you should still make a healthy profit.
