The truth is that I'm the kind of person who gets upset when there is a change in the adaptation of a work I've read, luckily it hasn't happened to me much, only twice. Honestly, I can't explain what the directors and scriptwriters are thinking when they make changes that instead of improving, they eliminate the whole essence of the series. It makes no sense at all, even worse is when they don't choose to face their mistakes and decide to blame the creator of the original work, plus the moment they realise that doing that doesn't work to calm the waters, they decide to erase all traces of who they are working on the anime. Now I can understand how those Tokyo Ghoul fans felt when they had their psychological work changed and were given crap with good animation in return; this is exactly what the second season of The Promised Neverland is like.

Sinceramente no me cabe explicación en qué estarán pensando los directivos y los guionistas cuando están haciendo cambios, que en vez de mejorar eliminan toda la esencia de la serie. No tiene sentido alguno, aún peor es cuando no eligen afrontar sus errores y deciden culpar al creador de la obra original, además que en el momento que se dan cuenta que hacer eso no funciona para apaciguar las aguas, deciden borrar todo rastro de quiénes son los que están trabajando en el anime. Ahora puedo entender lo que sintieron aquellos fans de Tokyo Ghoul cuando les cambiaron su obra de carácter psicológico y les otorgaron a cambio basura con una buena animación; esto mismo es la segunda temporada de The Promised Neverland.

There are no explanations as to why they did what they did, and I don't think there will be. The only thing that remains is the resignation, discontent and anger of the fans. A series whose name suggests that it's about a promise and the promise never appears on screen, confusing even for those who didn't read the original material. It was my wise decision to continue reading the manga when I finished watching the first season, I was hooked by the development of the characters, the excellent arc of Goldy Pond where the magnificent Yugo appears, showing that in that world there were adults and that other children had also achieved the arduous task of escaping, the rescue of the boys who were part of the macabre game, rescue that occurs when Emma and Ray decide to go to that place in search of clues, also place where the call of William Minerva occurs and is given much more importance. The anime only gave us the most accelerated and bad version that could exist, eliminating the best arc of the whole work.

> No hay explicaciones al respecto de por qué hicieron lo que hicieron, y no creo que las vaya a haber. Lo único que queda es la resignación, descontento y enojo de los fans. Una serie que su nombre da a indicar que va de una promesa y la promesa nunca llega a aparecer en pantalla, confuso hasta para quienes no leyeron el material original. Sabia fue mi decisión de continuar leyendo el manga al finalizar la visualización de la primera temporada, pude quedar enganchado con el desarrollo de los personajes, el excelente arco de Goldy Pond donde aparece el magnífico Yugo, demostrando que en aquel mundo existían adultos y que otros niños también habían conseguido la ardua tarea de escapar, el rescate a los muchachos que eran participes del macabro juego, rescate que ocurre cuando Emma y Ray deciden ir a aquel lugar en búsqueda de pistas, además lugar donde ocurre la llamada de William Minerva y se le da mucha más importancia. El anime solo nos otorgó la versión más acelerada y mala que pudiese existir, eliminando así el mejor arco de toda la obra.

Worse is when you realise, and I'm not one to talk much about this, that anime adds certain macho parameters. All the girls always wear skirts and only take care of the housework, the boys only go hunting and don't take care of anything else. In the manga, when they are in the shelter, you can see the teamwork between everyone, the tasks are equal, everyone works equally. There are also clothes for the girls and boys to change into, eliminating the uncomfortable skirts. The stupidest part is the elimination of weapons, the boys don't have the arsenal of weapons in the anime that they do in the manga, their only defence are bows and arrows. Everything gets worse when they do a Time Skip and the soldiers come for them, the soldiers have fucking guns and they look like imbeciles, having the advantage they let them win and they look like they don't have marksmanship. Such was the laziness of the directors, that when they added the abhorrent Time Skip they didn't even bother to make the characters bigger, from beginning to end they end up the same, in the manga you can see the growth of the characters, but not here.

> Peor es cuando te das cuenta, y mira que yo no soy de hablar mucho de esto, es que añaden el anime ciertos parámetros machistas. Todas niñas siempre van en falda y solo se encargan de las tareas del hogar, los niños solo van a cazar y no se encargan de nada más. En el manga cuando están en el refugio se nota el trabajo en equipo entre todos, las labores son equitativas, todos trabajan por igual. También hay ropa para que las niñas y los niños se cambien, eliminando las incómodas faldas. Parte estúpida a más no poder es la eliminación de las armas, los niños no disponen en el anime del arsenal de armas que sí sale en el manga, su única defensa son los arcos y las flechas. Todo empeora cuando hacen un Time Skip y llegan los soldados a por ellos, los tipos tienen putas armas y parecen imbéciles, teniendo ventaja se dejan ganar y parecieran que no poseyeran de puntería. Tanta fue la flojera de los directivos, que al añadir el aborrecible Time Skip ni se dieron la labor de hacer a los personajes más grandes, de principio al final terminan igual, en el manga se ve el crecimiento de los mismos, pero acá no.

To be honest, when I saw that they arrived at the shelter and Yugo wasn't there, I decided to stop watching, without that character it was obvious that they were going to change the anime completely. I knew the whole thing was going to end up being rubbish, with an ending worthy of looking like a Power Point presentation. God have mercy on the poor souls who watched such an aberration to the end. The best we can all do is say that this never existed, that The Promised Neverland never got a second season and pray that some charitable studio will do what they did with Full Metal Alchemist, but according to me it's highly unlikely that anything like that will ever happen. I haven't felt this disgusted since I saw the fleshed out adaptation of Sweet Home, I would have preferred Crunchyroll to make an anime of my beloved manhwa a thousand times over. I wasn't planning on doing this review at all, Charlotte was on my list, but I just had to get it off my chest. Love and peace, brothers.

> Siendo sincero, al ver que llegaron al refugio y no estaba Yugo, decidí dejar de ver, sin ese personaje existiendo era obvio que iban a cambiar el anime por completo. Sabía que todo iba a terminar siendo una basura, con un final digno de parecer una presentación de Power Point. Dios se apiade de las pobres almas que vieron semejante aberración hasta el final. Lo mejor que podemos hacer todos nosotros es decir que esto nunca existió, que The Promised Neverland nunca tuvo una segunda temporada y rezar porque algún estudio caritativo le dé por hacer lo mismo que hicieron con Full Metal Alchemist, pero según yo es muy poco probable que algo como eso ocurra. No me sentía tan asqueado desde que vi la adaptación en carne y hueso de Dulce Hogar, hubiera preferido mil veces que Crunchyroll le hiciera un anime a mi tan querido manhwa. No tenía para nada planeado hacer esta reseña, en mi lista estaba Charlotte, pero es que tenía que desahogarme. Amor y paz, hermanos.
