sunshine: Eine Open Source Implementation von NVIDIA Moonlight für AMD und Linux

Grüezi,

kennt Ihr das Problem: man benutzt Linux, will ungern eine Windows-Installation betreiben oder wenigstens nicht extra in diese booten müssen, und verzweifelt daran, dass Parsec nur auf Windows hosten kann?

Ich habe heute mal wieder ein wenig recherchiert (irgendwann muss doch mal was kommen!), und dann kam mir die Idee, nach Moonlight für AMD zu suchen. Dadurch (https://www.reddit.com/r/cloudygamer/comments/jxbose/alternatives_for_moonlight_on_amd/) bin ich tatsächlich über *sunshine* (https://github.com/loki-47-6F-64/sunshine/blob/master/scripts/README.md) gestolpert, welches nicht nur verspricht, eine Open Source-Implementierung eines Moonlight-Hosts zu sein, sondern eben auch(!) unter Linux hosten zu können.

Leider gibt es nur eine Bauanleitung für Ubuntu/Debian, ich betreibe Manjaro, aber tatsächlich gab es beim Bauen *fast* keine Fehlermeldungen (eine, weil ich anscheinend eine veraltete ffmpeg-Version aus dem AUR installiert hatte), und ich musste glücklicherweise keine extra Deps installieren (YMMV).

Da die Config relativ komplex aussieht (https://github.com/loki-47-6F-64/sunshine/blob/master/assets/sunshine.conf), werde ich mich die nächsten Tage ums Konfigurieren kümmern.

Wie gesagt, ich träume schon länger davon, einfach meine Linux-Maschine zu benutzen, um über Netzwerk/Internet remote zu gamen. Extra AMD-Karte geholt, weil doch die Treiberunterstützung so toll ist, und ausgerechnet an der Baustelle knicken alle Tools ein und bieten keinen Linux-Support?! Selbst ein Fork (https://github.com/LS3solutions/openstream-server), der angeblich enstanden ist, als das ursprüngliche Projekt nicht maintained war, hat den Support für Linux Hosting wieder zurückgerollt. 

Unglaublich schade.

Proton erlaubt es zwar, die meisten Spiele unter Linux zu spielen, bzw. optimiert Wine soweit, dass native Windows-Spiele flüssig laufen unter Linux.

Meine Experimente dienen jedoch dazu, meinen Gaming-PC quasi als Game Server zu betreiben, sodass du beispielsweise auf deinem leistungsschwachen Notebook übers Netzwerk dann Spiele streamen kannst. Analog zu Steam Remote - welches auch *fast* meinen Use Case erfüllt, aber beispielsweise *nicht ohne Steam auf dem Client funktioniert*.
