MURDER OF BABIES IS BEING LEGALIZED?

It seems impossible, but California introduced a bill that would allow mothers to kill their babies within the first week after giving birth. 
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this news!

The bill was developed by the "Abortion Board" under Gov. Gavin Newsom and introduced by local legislator Buffy Wicks.

The bill is designed to protect a mother from prosecution for any act related to her pregnancy, including acts resulting in "perinatal death". And the perinatal period is the entire period of pregnancy + the first week after childbirth. These actions will be regarded as the realization by a woman of her "reproductive rights".

But it's not all. 
Lee Mandry proposes to completely expand the possibility of infanticide for the next years after birth.

Of course, there are many opponents of this bill in the United States as well. 
But will they win?  Will they stop this outrage? I hope so...😴

While I'm sure many people find the new legislative language abhorrent, it still leaves plenty of room to prosecute malicious people, while making it harder for the state to bring homicide cases against young mothers who lose their late-stage or newborn children through no real fault of their own.

Thanks to @paradoxtma, I was able to read through the bill itself.  I don't think legalising infanticide is the *intent*, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is the effective result; a few years ago, California decriminalised knowingly infecting a person with HIV (well, not fully, rather reducing it from a felony to a misdemeanor), so murder has effectively been legal there for a while.  Theft is legal there as well, as long as the value of the stolen property is under $1000.  At this point, an earthquake breaking the state off the North American continent and sinking it into the Pacific Ocean is less of a worry and more of a forelorn hope.

This is why I like Hive... nobody on Facebook would have read that bill, but they would have continued to voice their opinion anyway, probably in all caps!

The United States was founded in such a way that it allows us to experiment with all sorts of government, it's inevitable that a few are going to screw it up.
