## Let's take a look at ***flair***.
Flair has two different meanings.
1. To have a specific talent to do something.
eg. Barry has a flair for playing cricket. (He is very good at playing cricket.)
2. To be stylish and have originality.
Eg. Holly has a flair to dress the girls for their matric farewell. 

## Let's take a look at ***flare***
Flare can be used as a noun or a verb. 

### Flare has two different meanings when used as a noun.
1. A sudden burst of a bright flame or light.
Eg. A distress flare was seen over the ocean. 

2. The gradual widening in shape. 
Eg. Helen's pants gradually flare out to the bottom of her skirt. 

### Flare has two different meanings when used as a verb.
1. When someone suddenly becomes angry.
Eg. Holly sat at the counter when she jumped up in a flare of anger and began shouting at Harry.
2. When something gradually widens to one end. 
Eg. She got so angry her nostrils flared.

Lay means to put something in a place. 
Eg. I lay the table. I lay the papers on the desk.
