I hope this comes true. There are forces though that want division and strife. It sells more than peace and love. You touch a lot of critical topics here for the world's current status. I've observed and studied the situation both in my country and globally with great care. The pressure's felt everywhere, but I don't think it's something new, more like we're experiencing a more tangible version of something that has been taking place in the background for decades, even centuries. Essentially, what I think is happening is that the narratives that have kept the shape of our civilization and the order of our societies (meaning institutions, economies, countries, etc) are losing power and revealing their falsehood, so we're collectively facing internal realities that were always active but not obvious.

I also think that all of humanity will profit greatly from this experience, that we'll indeed find the true worth of togetherness and begin to thrive. The process may take a long time, but it'll be ultimately for the best.

There is not the slightest objection to what you said above, sir. Even in the developmental psychology section, it is stated that influence (both influencing and being influenced) is a driving force that can lead a person to a certain point in his life.

Friends, family, and colleagues are people who tend to be positive influences. How many people are successful because of the positive influence of the people around them, or are there also many people who fall but are able to get back up because of their positive influence too? (People who know each other well always support each other to get something good, right?)

But the media content we consume is another matter. The influence of the media is completely at our fingertips and within our control. Only we ourselves can control the consumption and influence of the media, which has led us to this point in time. Either fail or succeed.

Everyone has the potential to be at the lowest point in their life (even if it looks fine). Just as everyone also has the potential to be at their best, everyone wants to be at their best, and that can be achieved if all positive influences can be empowered and negative influences can be minimized.

Whilst your wife's friend's situation is tragic, it could also be a reminder that there is ALWAYS someone worse off than ourselves.

Well, you know, I think that in life it's always a case of comparing yourself to those who are better off and aiming for that rather than looking at those who are worse off and comforting yourself; this is for the ambitious and of course in my opinion. I believe that balance is always something precarious unfortunately, not easy to maintain even for the "strongest" people if we can use this term. Surely the weather isn't good, I generally try to see this as an opportunity to develop myself and when things go better to be already ahead. I agree that perhaps one day we will understand that the human race can do much more if we do it together, but unfortunately it hasn't really gotten there yet. Darling, you do need something to look forward to. But I totally get it - I have this constant niggling feeling that it's all fucking pointless as humanity is on the edge of a cliff and we're all dead already. Happy days. I get it. 

Control the controllable, and start with yourself and your perspectives, and pay it forward. 

What people need now is hope and positive energy.  Perhaps most should turn off TV and propaganda news. 😉

Comparing one's unfortunate circumstance with that of others or comparing one's fortune with others', I dunno which is worse or makes one feel better or hopeful. Maybe both have the effect they need to have depending on the situation at hand so in making them, I think we just need to be prudent and flexible. It's not entirely useless really, it helps to some extent.

Taking things on credit is not good. I bought an iPhone for my wife in 2021 for $1350 and paid right away. In the same year, I bought myself an iPhone for $700 in installments for 2 years. This year it was very unpleasant for me to pay $40 a month for installments.

I think people have lost some of their mental health for more than two years, particularly because of lockdowns. I have observed some strange behaviours from people, like getting quickly angry more than ever. What I have also noticed that we have got used to lazyness and being alone.
