<div class="text-justify"> I have a few days left of my holidays before having to go back into what looks like a heavy Autumn training season. Each day I have been doing bits and pieces around the house to prep for upcoming work *loosely* scheduled to be done, meaning we could get a call tomorrow or in a month that they are coming. I have also been taking a few hours here and there for myself to just chill on front of the TV or like today playing around with the camera - anything that doesn't require lifting heavy things. I have lifted too much the last month without much let up, and my neck is a bit of a mess. I will likely have to have a pro look at it soon. Anyway, today I headed into the garden and realized that we don't have enough flowering plants for the autumn, so will have to plant some next spring. It is nice to have colour for as long as possible out there, as soon it will be getting dark and grey, before very dark and black once the leaves have fallen. The late fall period is a bit depressing until the snows arrive and stay on the ground to bring some light. We are hoping to have some decent lighting in the house by then, but it will depend on our progress upstairs. Electricians are very expensive too, so planning is important. The pics today are mostly from the garden with a few randoms thrown into the mix. I was looking for some shots I could use for some other posts too, as I hope to add some kind of interest through the images I use. Also, I like to use connected but not necessarily directly relevant images. Like my titles, I prefer them to be a little quirky. I like shots that are slightly awkward in some way, a little bit uncomfortable. At least for me, the awkwardness makes me pay more attention, rather than accept it at first glance. I guess it is the brain being curious and trying to work out why things seem *not quite right.* Of course, I don't want them all to be too awkward, so you will probably notice that I tend to weight many of my images along or just off the thirds lines. Centered images feel too engineered for my head, so I don't use them much and even my portrait work is rarely in the middle of the shot. I generally shoot this way, but sometimes I crop it later. There are a lot of images here, so I won't talk more about them, but i wonder what people notice when they scroll through. These days, I do not think most pictures are as powerful or tell a thousand words, as we fo not spend enough time to read what they contain as we scroll through in a rush to get to the next. With writing, we are forced tl slow down a little at least, or get nothing at all from our reading. Love the shots; the closeness, the colors, they're so beautiful. >I like shots that are slightly awkward in some way, a little bit uncomfortable. At least for me, the awkwardness makes me pay more attention, rather than accept it at first glance. I think this is pretty accurate. I'm not an expert on photography, but I am able to appreciate a good shot. I believe, akwardness sometimes brings good things. For me, feeling or seeing akward things helps me with my process of writing. Seeing all the shots, I can say that my favorite is the first one.

Interesting shots. >>Of course, I don't want them all to be too awkward, so you will probably notice that I tend to weight many of my images along or just off the thirds lines. Centered images feel too engineered for my head, so I don't use them much and even my portrait work is rarely in the middle of the shot. I generally shoot this way, but sometimes I crop it later. That's the rule of thirds. Having the main subject at the center just does not work most of the time. It leads to visual imbalance. It's a common rookie mistake. It seems that your furlough did not last too long. Good thing since you're having to pay for a lot for your reno.

I like the mixt of the awkward ones and the natural ones. Although colored flowers and fruits are beautiful shots, I enjoy getting to see little details we usually do not see in photos, it is a way to get to see thoughts and details the photographer had in its head when shooting beyond what nature offers.
