Out of the fog

Fog is calming, it softens the hard edges and filters the light so the scenery becomes dream-like and fairytale-ish. It is excellent to photography and when it is around, I try to take the opportunity. In this case, it meant shooting through the windscreen. I don't recommend it but it was just so lovely that I had to snap a few away.

I remember this morning. I was on my way to work in another town and was early. I stopped on the way to grab a coffee and a bite to eat at a little service station. I have stopped there many times before and the woman that is often working will strike up a conversation each time. She only speaks Finnish but we manage to have some interesting conversations and she is not the most subtle person.

I enjoy talking to a wide range of people even if they are not my biggest fans. It is too easy in this world to box ourselves in with people like ourselves, too easy to protect our ideals and values. Too easy to pretend that we are correct and have no flaws in our processes. Too easy to live in the fog.
