I actually mowed my lawn a little bit this weekend. Probably the earliest I have ever done that. We had some skunks getting in our yard digging for grubs, so I have some ugly patches too. I expect I will have to mow the front and back by the end of April.

It’s tough to deal with the health things like that. I’m thinking of various ways in which you could likely remedy the situation with the sloping yard but you likely won’t want to do them, as it’s not just cost of labor at this point for that stuff. Hopefully you can save some HBD and then use the money from that to finance it. Not ideal but it’s a perfect use case for it and you get to do what you can in the real world with the hard work you’re putting in here. Plus what bank is going to let you grow the funds to finance it at 20%? None! Lol. Take advantage of the Monaco situation of hive right now man! 

A hive account is definitely like a garden, in that for me I’m trying to get things to sprout but I add too much here or not enough there and things go a little wonky but it’s slowly getting there one lesson at a time!

Sure wish you luck with the driveway. Had a former work colleague that had a similar issue, so I don't envy all you are going to go through with it. We will be putting out our small garden in a couple more weeks. It is not very large, just a few plants of this and that. Enjoy your weather until garden time.

My experience says even if you work hard and chase it, there is no assurance you will have it. And if you do have it then there is no assurance that you are going to be happy after you get it. 

Life is that funny. Patience is good but so does perception of what is good or bad for us. But unfortunately until we reach 40 that is harder to get. Often we get something that is not good for us but we chase our lifetime behind it then trying to protect it.

I love the garden life. When I was young, my mom would sow a garden every spring on the side of our home and I would help her with all the different phases - turning over the soil, laying the seeds, picking the weeds, removing the pests and finally harvesting the crops. We would grow tomatoes, string beans, zucchini, and peppers.

Now that I live in an urban apartment, the closest thing I have to garden is a pair of 32-gallon plastic tubs that we fill with soil to grow some plants. Last year we grew two successful grape tomato plants, an assortment of herbs like basil, chives and dill, and for the first time due to some new laws - two cannabis plants!

Now that was quite the learning experience. I took the curing and trimming for granted, that was a long, arduous process I was not prepared for. But looking forward to doing it all again. Our seeds are sprouting inside, using soil in a 24-egg crate as the individual seed pods. In a week or two, we should have sprouts healthy enough to transplant outside to be potted into the tubs for a new season.

Half a metre? That's a LOT of earth to bring in to level it with the road. I can see how this project is going to take months, but it could be very therapeutic for your whole family. 

I always forget to take "before" photos of things like this and then don't really have anything to compare once it's done, so yes, take loads of pics so you can track the changes. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes. 

I don't have any Land so I don't have any problems working on it.  I am considering selling one of my legendary cards to get some land. But that decision is hard. I like my cards. and the chance of getting keep or castle are very slim...

Patience is a virtue for one to possess,  one needs more than patience to be successful,  hard work,  is required as you have rightfully said when one put in his efforts the results are outstanding.

Bloody gardens. Lots of my stuff that is meant to be hardy died this winter. I didn't even think it was that bad a winter.

It's the same here, a short season but worth it just for that pleasure of sitting outside for a some relaxing time

Working in the garden was something I did not really like when I was a kid but since then, I have never had my garden anymore since I have been living in smaller or bigger flats. I remember how much working cutting the hedge with my dad, cutting trees and gathering fruits. 
Right now, I am surrounded by the garden, but luckily we have a gardener neighbor that is taking care of it. 
I like having a garden, but I prefer having other people taking care of it (for the moment). In the future, who knows

I really like the analogy between the garden, Hive and life in general.
Obviously big jobs must be done sooner or later but even small ones, small steps are of great importance in achieving future goals.

Certainly the unexpected are around the corner and we never know what can happen and You know it well; however, you must always get back on your feet even if it is sometimes difficult.

Maybe you don't plan, but a life in the garden isn't bad, right?🤗

Gardeninis is good for relieving the stress, and watching the flowers and trees blooming/growing give you a positive energy. Garden is one of the place where you can be rewarded for your efforts such as a beautiful image or even any products :)
