I think another reason the model is dying is that literally, the "influencers" are dying. So many have mental issues because what they do is all for getting attention, whether it is what they want to do or not. The model of "clickbait" for volume means that it doesn't matter what the content is, as long as it generates clicks. I am not sure if anyone has written about this before, so I might attempt it later :)

It is a MLM model - just in digital format and where the pyramid is only seen on the backside by the platform.

One of the interesting things about the influencers now is they will find themselves increasingly demonetized. They work to build their network, but own none of it. Here, an interface shuts down, the list is intact. Fuck, the entire platform can be hijacked, it can be forked and, and the list is intact.
