I don't think there is best way of earning on content for all its types and/or types of customers (that is, I don't think in the end everyone will use the same model, while others will die out). If we only looked at the replies to your article no one is willing to pay, and yet for example, while half of the Internet is free porn, there is still enough people willing to spend their money on OnlyFans and the like.

There is currently no front-end support for such models (as far as I know), however paywalls, ads and whatever else monetization schemes, all can be used on Hive. After all we have encryption and custom operations, both can be used to make certain content exclusive, let the authors retain full control over their work. The only way that is naturally compatible with Hive is directly sponsored content, be it by some company wanting for its advert/product become part of that content or by consumers through Patreon and similar services (and Hive has recurrent transfers for that).

Honestly, I’m sure I wouldn’t spend a penny on content like this :D 

For more practical and really useful informations, well... it will depend about the intrinsic value of it !

But as a self generated asset rewarding people depending on how « interesting », « good » and « needed » content is, HIVE beats that from far !

I see what you're saying but then again people subscribe to 3+ streaming services for tv now. Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ being the most common.  It's pretty much the software on demand era everything is going subscription based and people will pay it if they want it. People are very willing to pay for extra bonuses.

I think most of us can agree that 95% of social media content is pretty much worthless anyway.  @nealmcspadden says something to that effect at least once a month in the Leo Discord.  I think this is smart on their part since pretty much everything is moving towards subscription services these days. I also agree though that eventually there is going to be a fatigue factor that settles in.  People are going to get tired of forking out the money.

I think cooking, programming, diy type of the stuff works well for paywall because keeping such personal content openly often means you are not going to monetize your efforts. Because it takes more years to thrive on hive than on instagram, so monetizing is reasonable from content creator perspective. It may sound evil for consumers but it is what it is.

I think it's strange though considering that most of these influencers live lives that are vastly different - or at least *look* different to the majority of "followers" - I can't think of something worse that continuing to follow someone that makes me feel shit about my very plain, average and rather boring life. Does she actually post things that are worthwhile? For me, I doubt it. There are like a gazillion people on Instagram just like her. I'm really not that interested, I'd rather spend my time here reading posts about real life and how people deal with it on a very down to earth level. 

Maybe I'm weird but I wouldn't pay money to subscribe to shit like that, there's just no interest in it for me.

The problem with Hive it is content curated. It is not a follow me to the mall type of app. Watch me do this or that. Hive being on the blockchain slows it down from being the type of social media that most influencers require. I'm sure I'm wrong on this.

I am not willing to spend any money to follow any influencers. I'd rather spend that money elsewhere if it's not going to make me money. There is a lot of content out there for free so I can just stick with those for now.

I'm willing to spend exactly zero on exposed skin. And I prefer my information presented in a terse and well-formatted form. I have no time or the inclination to consume filler content often found in articles in magazines let alone pay for any of that.

People often do stuff that doesn't make much sense. OnlyFans seems like a non-starter when there's free adult content all over the net. Who's going to pay for it?
I wouldn't have expected it to see anywhere near that level of popularity.

I never understood the reason behind this, as probably you need to be 'obssessed' in some way to pay to find more and more about a person. Or maybe just playing someone ego to make him/her feel special (i have a subscription, i am special - kind of way)

Staking tokens for the sole purpose of supporting content is still the best deal around.  *If someone looking to monetize a following that size only knew...*

Could probably make two or three "whales" for themselves out of a crowd that size.  That crowd notices they're making money instead of spending; more crowds come.
