Risk was just between my brother any myself, so it was always a bit of a stalemate till one of the dices goes on a rampage and destroys all the opponent's troops :)

Risk is also good for Geography as it helps to visualise the continents on a flat map. I do miss playing Risk now we are talking about it. 

Nintendo switch is also great, just make sure to get those more family oriented games like Mario Cart/ Mario Party/ Switch Sports whereby a group of people can play together.

My wife and I have been watching a bit of Netflix lately. It's okay though because come summer we won't be watching much TV. That's cool about your words with friends acquaintance!

First of all, I had to look for a translator, because I don't speak or write English fluently (I hope it do justice to my ideas, with all due respect to you) It's just that I am from the Hispanic communities, mainly from [C/Holos&Lotus](https://peakd.com/c/hive-131951/created) and [C/Be Entrepreneur](https://peakd.com/c/hive-140971/created), where I am a columnist in both communities.

First, I found this publication because I like to search in this great ecosystem that is #Hive, publications that fill me and allow me to reflect; and, as in this case, to draw lessons, emotions and internally stimulate memories and pleasant moments.

It caught my attention powerfully, this different version of the one I played in English language with the directions of the city of New York (if I remember correctly) which was the one we played in Venezuela in my childhood and youth; but with the same functioning and the same strategies generating life lessons that can leave in a human being when, since childhood, he has access to it.
 
What lessons? I mean that in my childhood, the game allowed me to carry out strategies that, later, I put into practice when I had to study at the university and balance my money, manage what was given to me for expenses, which, after all, is organization, which, necessarily, one ends up learning only when one is a professional and has a job.

But I will go further: The fact that a father sits down to play this game with his son or daughter (I lived it, my parents did it with my brother and me) implies a practical lesson of life; and not only what you rightly point out, which is the interrelation with others through the learning of the interaction with other players, but also the possibility that the interrelation between father and children is given in the form of two independent characters.
 
This game gives the child the ability to relate to the parent and the other players in the same way, as equals to equals, because they work in the game with similar financial resources and opportunities.
 
The strategies the child learns are independent of the strategies he learns from and with the parent, because the game gives him independence of decision and movement; which are still practical life lessons; which, until today when I read your article, I had not reasoned more broadly.
 
It is very true what you say, that they, the children, once they learn they become competitive and that is good; and also, what you mention about emotional control, because in the game, sometimes you win sometimes you lose; so, learning and development of emotional intelligence through this game, as you say, is super important.
 
And it should be a mandatory game of family interaction.
 
It is true that adult guidance is always important, as you say, towards generating the will of self-reflection and self-control; and what your publication points out: The potential development of talents in the child.

As you well express; it is a fascinating occasion to observe the reactions of the one who plays; which is nothing more than the same ludic activity for research in children, so important; and used by the behavioral and health sciences. (I am a doctor, by the way)

This game was used by my parents, instead of chess game, because it also generates learning strategies, it lasts long, hours, which prolongs family interaction; and also, because it allows emotional expression, that is, you shout, you applaud, you criticize the other's move and complain, too, which is good learning of emotional drainage; and it is very enjoyable and of increasing intensity in attention, concentration and memory.
