I have seen a couple random posts today asking "what has happened to the price of Hive", as if a drop in HIVE price whilst the rest of the market is dropping, is unusual. What is good for me is, some of my HIVE buys went through on the internal market. A little higher than I would have liked seeing the dip, but not that bad. After all, that is where I set the buy mart at, so I must be happy with it. The buy price doesn't matter as much as the sell price, right?

However, there is a psychological impact made as price drops. Those long, red candles are a bit like getting a school report back from a teacher with red ink all over it - should have worked harder.

Then there is the second-guessing and the "should have sold" internal dialogue, as the brain does mental gymnastics highlighting what ifs. 

>If I had sold 1000, I could have bought back 1100.

>If I hadn't bought 1000 yesterday, I could have bought 1100 today.

For the most part, it really is a useless mental exercise. Not only because you can't go back in time, but because when you were *back in time* you didn't do those things, which is proof that you wouldn't have sold, because you didn't. It is like all the people who think that if they had bought 100 Bitcoin for a dollar each, they would be millionaires now. That isn't the case, because most would have likely sold them when they reached 5 dollars each, or ten. Our brains conveniently forget all the in between time where our human nature kicks in.

How many do you really know who have them? I know quite a few who mention they do, yet check their wallet and post feed, and that is unlikely to be the case. Look at your own history and see what it says about you if you were to look at it objectively as if it is someone else's account.

I spent some time discussing some internal processes with a sales leader this evening and we ended up talking about human behavior and how people may feel that they are behaving in the right way, but they don't actually know if they are, let alone if they are performing the tasks efficiently or effectively. If they took a step back and compare notes they would recognize their gaps, but they don't, because that reinforcing feeling says they don't have to. However, what should indicate that they might want to investigate, are their results.

And so it goes with trading, as even when we might know what we need to do, knowing and doing are two different things. But, it is very easy to get some kind of *trader feeling* from looking at charts and doing nothing more than lamenting buying too early or selling too late. It is like reading a news headlines on Twitter about some global event, and feeling like that has somehow helped the situation. 

The sky might be falling, but staring at it and doing nothing isn't going to stop it, nor is it going to protect us from the impact. Sure, an might be inevitable, but at least in *trying* to do something useful gives us the chance to influence the outcome. Personally, I'd rather a bad outcome after trying, than a bad outcome from standing still. 

But, a drop in HIVE price isn't a bad outcome, as I took a little HBD I had liquid and bought some more. And if it drops further, I will probably buy some more again, because it really doesn't matter what happens to the price on any given day, it is about what happens to it over the space of time, and I am looking into the years ahead.

The sky isn't falling. The opportunity to buy is increasing.
