<div class="text-justify"> I'd like to say that the kitchen is now finished, but unfortunately, that is far from the truth - while it isn't "that far" from completion, the challenge is that due to several delays, we have kept losing workers to other jobs when we need them and because they are on other jobs, other workers have to be pushed back too. It is frustrating for everyone concerned, especially as it really isn't anyone's fault, it is just a series of hiccups that lead to the next burp. >I am running out of energy. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to just plug-in and recharge - a hybrid, pulling in energy from the socket when needed? I wonder if people would work more or less if they could do that. I know a guy from a couple decades ago who had trained himself to sleep two hours a day and he was working two shifts of a job, one in the Pacific area, the other in the US. In between he was going to the gym and reading, as well as learning an instrument. He had twenty two hours of the day to do as he pleased and he *never* seemed, *nor looked* tired. >I'm not much of a maximizer. *Unfortunately.* And what I mean by "unfortunately" is that while I might not be inclined to maximize financial matters, I am also not keen to maximize anything in my life, including my own potential. This makes me wonder what my "full potential" might look like in an alternate universe. >What are the highest heights of my own ability? I think that one of the things that is so attractive about sports, is that it is on that scale of testing potential at the higher end, satisfying our own curiosity as to what we might be able to do ourselves - Even if we couldn't. It allows us to get the sense of glory by association >They are human, I am human. They can do that, I could do it too. And I think that this is what upsets us when we discover someone has been "cheating" using a steroid, as we feel cheated, because it means, *we couldn't do that after all.* It was "assisted". But, if we want to *be our best,* why is it that using aids to get there is so frowned upon? Why is it that if a person uses some kind of patch to quit smoking, they are seen as having no will power? Why is it that if a musician uses drugs to unlock parts of their brain that were inaccessible otherwise, it lessens their music in the eyes of the audience? For example, a colleague asked me about how I am doing since the stroke and was interested what kinds of treatments I got - which was *none.* Because I tested average or above in the cognitive function tests, they said they won't help me. However, I also mentioned that there are studies around the world where hallucinogens like LSD are being successfully used in treatment, and my colleague responded negatively, because, > *Drugs are bad.* So, people would like me to be better, as long as the way to get better doesn't infringe on their social conditioning of morality around different substances, most of which they have *zero experience* with themselves, nor have ever looked into in any way. >*It is interesting, no?* We all have these imaginary lines we draw in the sand as to what is right or wrong, but as our own conditions change, our "ethical position" can change quite radically, especially if ourselves or someone we care for is suffering. Having the distance allows us to judge, but when it is happening to us, we want the *best opportunity* for recovery and improvement. >If we could recharge? Most likely, like pretty much everything in this life, it will be abused by some to get advantage over others, so rather than making our lives better, it will end up making our lives worse. It is like with all of the promise of nuclear power to provide energy, we limit its potential because we choose to make weapons with it instead. We do the same for pretty much every innovation - rather than improving the best we can be, we use it to control others. *Out of energy.* Taraz [ Gen1: Hive ] </div>

I can say that guy is so awesome for being able to do that. Many people can't do that including me maybe. It takes a lot of effort to really organize your scheds within a day. He a has a higher mindset. Good for him. The points here are all true especially the one you mentioned that you can use a drug but other people see it as bad and says negative comments. They're so bitter about the positive possibilities and results of the drugs that are present today. They should be happy for you instead of branding that option as negative. People having those kinds of mind and perspective about the things they partially know make me feel tired sometimes huhu.

> It is like with all of the promise of nuclear power to provide energy, we limit its potential because we choose to make weapons with it instead. So we shouldn't take pride in other humans' achievements; but we're complicit in their foolishness? If I can't vicariously enjoy my species' potential, while watching gymnastics; you don't get to claim *we* are making nuclear bombs. Starting to understand why you're running out of energy :)

:D It is more in the general sense of humanity in this case. But, because of the fears around nuclear weapons and Chernobyl, "we the people" in most places seem to be against building nuclear power plants. A new one is firing up at the moment in Finland to provide about 14% of the national needs :) Do you get the feeling that most of life is vicarious now?

I'll be enjoying Splinterfest vicariously this weekend, because I couldn't get there in person. Will those attending recognise that others are enjoying their experience? Its a lot easier to identify when you're living vicariously through somebody else, than when they're living vicariously through you.

It's all about the mindset I'd say; back when I was in school I used to wake up at 6:30AM everyday, wasn't even difficult, because I had set up a consistent routine of some sorts. But when I was out of school and prepping for my higher studies, even sleeping till 9AM wouldn't be enough, thanks to a habit of waking and staying up late. There were times where 6 hours of sleep would get through the day with ease, and then there were the times when even 10 hours of sleep wouldn't be enough. It was all about building up a routine and habit, whatever I could work with at that moment. Yet, I would say that I was at my best when I was living my fittest and most active life; I would wake up early, head straight to the gym, almost all my meals were healthy and clean. The energy and the endless supply of motivation I had back then was insane. Funny how all these very "physical" activities helped me stay strong and focused mentally as well. I used to think that some people were too gifted and blessed with such physical and mental energy, but soon enough I found that it was just about being consistent and building up a healthy habit of diet, sleep and exercise.

You are right about the routines and habits being a huge part of it. Will power is often not enough in most people (I don't have enough), so setting up the habits is what helps real changes stick. >Funny how all these very "physical" activities helped me stay strong and focused mentally as well. Isn't it so funny? People say "I am too tired and have no time to exercise" - but those who do exercise have more energy and more time. I see exercise as a keystone habit, it puts pressure for other habits to improve too.

Exercise is the foundation, I found out the hard way, but I'm really glad that I did. Even though I have been off track for quite a while now, thanks to Covid and its lockdowns, but I plan on getting back on track ASAP. For now some different aspects deserve a bit of attention at first, then I'll start the "gainz" grind again lol. I surely was at my best when I was working out almost daily and eating healthy, efficiency and time management was on a different level thanks this habit of mine. I managed to do and learn things that I never even imagined of a achieving. Good times, good times indeed.

Hope that sleeping on 2-4hrs per day doesn't bite him hard with memory issues down the line x_x I remember doing that through uni mostly because I had to get assignments done XD (biology was hard, and one of the units in multimedia was actually pure insanity, they fixed it for the next batch fortunately) Then I had kids and suddenly it was completely unsustainable (not from lack of trying, had to sleep more because I was literally mostly dead all of the time and it sucked) :< > rather than improving the best we can be, we use it to control others. Some people really need to build a bridge. Do you have the option of trying the lsd route if you wanted to try it?

Was university hard because of all of the assignments, or all of the assignments on top of all of the partying? *Kids ruin everything* - no wonder why so many people aren't having them these days ;D >Do you have the option of trying the lsd route if you wanted to try it?
