Agree I was in red almost all 2022 but we are see green in new year I hope we hit previous ath soon 

It is unbelievable how quickly the crypto pumped. 

I've tangentially mentioned crypto to some of my colleagues and being in the tech side, you'd think that people would be all about it! Nope, most of them are not and some think it's a load of shit. I'm sad to see that people are duped by the poison coming from the media mouthpieces. 

I'm in a dilemma, but I think for only a little bit. With the prices fluctuating like this, I'm unsure if I should be selling with programmatic sells, still buying my DCA, and putting in programmatic buys if it ever dips. I'm doing it at this moment but at what point does it get less profitable to sell it and then hope that it goes back down, in time to make something? Lol decisions! 

Hopefully your coworker gets in sooner rather than later. It does take many of us a little while after we learn something, to get into it, to be fair to your colleague.

Dollar cost average is the way! No emotions, just the same percentage each week. Glad to have been early.

The value of crypto has not changed...While I was working in the hospital I tried so hard to encourage people to join Hive and be a support but it is really hard for most people to think long-term...I don't blame them...but I can't join them...I just want to be patient enough to take my profit and reinvest...I don't mind looking poor if I have to.

I love seeing this kind of things on graphs and being able to show people because they always say "Maybe I should give crypto another try" after being burnt by some asshole trader who fucked up...I tell them to do just that and buy when it's low like now but to MANAGE THEIR OWN PORTFOLIO instead of leaving it with someone else. I think that's what scares them. I can't wait to buy some more as soon as money comes in, I'm hoping to get in while it's still low (on Hive). 

I learned not to compel or persuade anyone too much. Eventually they'll come to see things from your perspective if you're right

I think it's tough for people to pull the trigger and get in. In the long run, I do think it is worth it and it should go higher if nothing really changes. However, it might take time for it to play out and I have a feeling that most people don't want to buy because they feel that it could go lower. Picking the low and highs are really tough and it keeps them out of the market.

Amir Taaki (one of the early devs) mentioned a friend of his had saved 0.5 BTC on a brainwallet through blockchain.info and that the relevant code has since been lost to mankind, rendering that 0.5 BTC and any others secured the same way, lost forever.
I had 17 BTC on a blockchain.info brainwallet 9 years ago. 
Happily I don't any more, but it makes you wonder how many others have their bitcoin safely tucked away in a wallet they can't spend from, and don't even know. 

The BTC market can be funny at time, one moment it is up rising and the next moment thereafter, it is down again or half way.

It has always been the tactic of a lot of watching who does it and then rejoicing when things seem to be going wrong.

... I say it seems because then in reality they don't actually know how things work.

I believe investing in crypto will always be profitable for now, as well as investing in other things... simply having the right information and knowing.

I will continue to accumulate and all in all I'm also doing it without spending too much of my own... at the end of the balance between all the investments I will always find myself more than what I put in... just think of Hive, however I accumulate even without investing so from scratch I find something (for me it's still a smart thing).

Leave it alone that I then add my own to it and that in any case I also put my passion into Hive and have fun.

The thing I know is that there is do or not do , there is no try my govane Padawan!

I guess it's just human nature that people only rush in when they see it going up, like what happened in 2021. And then the "buy high, sell low" cycle repeats. These days, my friends rarely talk about cryptos. I just continue to focus on my own journey, posting on Hive, and accumulating cryptos outside of Hive.

How things change in a matter of week. Everything was calm when BTC was languishing around 16K and it sprung back to life with 20K. The market repeats and rinses. I am now a witness of a bull market rise and a bear market fall. I need to make sure I hustle and earn Hive, invest more money into crypto. That way, I will ride the next wave up and be ready for the financial freedom. Keep the wisdom coming :)

I remember J and I trying to explain that to his parents and them looking like "well that doesn't feel right so we're going to choose not to believe it".  My mum was at least "oh okay" and they all probably have about the same levels of investment knowledge as each other as I know they all invest in stuff.

And recently a friend asked if we were doing alright as he noticed that Bitcoin (which everyone seems to think is the entirety of crypto, and they are very confused when the first thing out of my mouth in  response is "I don't like bitcoin" XD) had dropped.  I tried to keep the conversation relatively simple (I know there are a lot of things where I need people to dumb it right down so I have a prayer of understanding it) and eventually he said "I don't trust crypto because I don't understand it" which I think is everything of the problem, but at the same time people just blindly trust a lot of things that they don't understand because reasons?
