# *Washed away*

*On another day, I would have stayed
Any would given the chance. 
If only I could turn the current of you, but time would not allow.
Too strong the rip and too weak my grip, too lost my world to the sea.
You watched me struggle to keep my head, you were still as I sank below. 
The pummeling waves and shifting sands, the drumming of my imagination. The deepest caves and lack of hands, the humming of my damnation. 
Drawn into the deep to be kept and held far from safety's shore. Left wanting you and all you have, emptiness forevermore.
The salt stained cheeks and hollowed eyes, telling of what had come and gone. The tide of you had visited and withdrawn, your footsteps faded to dust. 
Just a moment please, just a moment more, the cruelty of the choices made. You could have stayed or we could have left, instead we are apart. And from the beginning I knew as did you, that you would take my heart.
On another day I could have stood, if I was more than just me. But you are you and the best I could have, was to hide me for as long as I did. 
The breaking waters and crying winds can only do what they could. And on that day and in that spray, what you kept of me was washed away.
The seas are dried, the sand exposed, the life that was has passed. I walk alone where we once swam, calling with a broken voice. Your name, the one I never knew, forced without a choice.
On and on til eternity dies, on until the end. All things I hope must come to pass and I await my time.*
