You can literally feel the joy and satisfaction these people have when describing what a great feeling it is not to work for anyone else than them self.</p> <p>Up to today I was dreaming almost everyday how beautiful it would be to leave my daily 9 to 5 job and do the things I am really passionate about instead. Today finally I got the simple realisation that if you want to change something, you need to stop dreaming and start acting.</p> <p>With that in mind and determined to not fall back on dreaming, I set the following goals that once achieved should allow me to live an independent live. </p> <h2>1. Start with the end in mind</h2> <p>Setting a end goal is a first step. I am now 36 years old, married and have two little boys. My goal is to be financial independent in 2 years from now and earn money only with things I am passionate about. I don't need to be rich, just need to have enough money to continue to pay what I am currently paying plus a little bit more if possible ✨</p> <h2>2. Investing</h2> <p>One of my passions is investing. I used to invest in stocks but according to @dollarvigilante it all goes down the drains soon. So I started to invest in digital currencies instead like, well, <strong>STEEMIT</strong> and others. I hope that with compounding interest and steadily increasing position sizes I will have a strong portfolio in two years time.</p> <h2>3. Day trading</h2> <p>Another big passion of mine is trading. In the past I traded fiat currencies but since GB left the EU I stopped with that as well. A week ago I opened an account with Poloniex and will start with trading soon to hopefully generate some small but steady profits within the next 2 years and beyond.</p> <h2>4. Blog</h2> <p>As you might know, most of my articles here on Steemit are related to 3d modelling. I created a wordpress site (www.nextin3d.com) where I show in easy to follow steps how to model objects in CAD software like Onshape and Fusion360. My goal is to make this the go to reference site for beginners and receive a little steady income with the traffic. </p> <p>I also will continue to be active on Steemit to hopfully increase my followers and provide good content that will lead to rewards as well.</p> <h2>5. Publish a Book</h2> <p>It was always a dream of mine to write a book and see it on Amazon! I actually completed already the first few pages of a tutorial book. If it will not be a total flop than I expect this to be a low but steady income source as well.</p> <p><br></p> <p>So you see the plan is out there, now it is just a matter of being consequent and follow it through. Regarding the investing portion, you should also think about real estate as a way to generate passive income. The nice thing is that the value also rises with inflation. The goal here would be cash-flow generating rental property. Right now it's difficult to find deals in many parts of the US because the fed has created another bubble in the real estate market. However, if you can find a good deal then jump on it. You can probably also find some good markets inside and outside of the US.
