STEEM is in the process of getting a Wiki.

At least this is the case according to a post by @hede-io.

We are all familiar with the concept of Wikipedia.  While almost all of us used it because of the high search rankings, there have been accusation of it being manipulated and used for mind control.  Whether these accusations are true or not, it does show the drawback to anything that is centralized.  

Hede seeks to be the STEEM replacement for Wiki.  It is an open dictionary that anyone can add to.  Also, unlike Wiki, slang can also be added.  It set out to be a full-dictionary of terms and ideas.

Tapping into the human knowledge base is a part of the move in the future towards Abundance.  Humanity is a wealth of information spread out among all the inhabitants.  Unlike the past where only a few controlled the message, a project like this can really tap into what people know.

Hede-io calls it crowdsourcing knowledge.

This is another example of the power of the masses on this blockchain.  When we start accessing the talents of humanity, great things happen.  

Having a decentralized, open dictionary that contains all the knowledge we acquired thus far is an outstanding idea.  We all know how crucial Wikipedia is to people although some of the results could be questioned.  Without getting into conspiracies, how do we really know the results are not manipulated?  Censorship does not seem like a big stretch to me.  It is fairly common knowledge that Google alters its web searches.  

Smart Media Tokens are looking like a better idea as time goes by.  The idea of monetizing a site such as this is tied to all the traffic.  If this takes off, the volume of views will be huge.  The question for is how to monetize it for all those involved.  Enter cryptocurrency and, specifically, Smart Media Tokens.  

The final point that I want to make is that, with all the FUD taking place and the drop in pricing action, we see development continuing.  This is where the true value of the blockchain comes from.  Each week, we see new things emerging which have the potential to excite a lot of people.

Patience is key.  We are still very early in this game.  A few weeks ago, the mantra was that EOS was going to kill STEEM.  Not as a knock, but the lesson there is technological innovations often struggle to get started no matter how much money is involved.  It is just the nature of the field.

STEEM is chugging along at a nice pace.  The Wall Street casino is collapsing yet development is on the upswing.  At some point, the market will turn and, I feel, STEEM should be well situation to garner some attention.  

It only takes on breakthrough application to draw in the masses.  CryptoKitties should be an example to all of us.
