Bitcoin is Bitcoin.  The value is there simply because of the brand.  This was a unique time and place in history.  Even though it was forked anumber of times, it is still Bitcoin.  It does not matter what is built on it.  Bitcoin is still Bitcoin.

In this video I discuss how other blockchains have their value elsewhere.  That means if they are attacked, applications and the community can move elsewhere.  This is where a fork is so valuable.  It is a way to counter any point of vulnerability.

I guess it makes sense that every block chain has advantages and drawbacks. It's weird how BTC is like a brand but everything else relies on the community and it reminds me the time when I learned about a token called ETH classic. Obviously I avoid ETH but even they had their own issues and they did their own fork. However what decided where ETH should go is pretty much the community.
