The Transitioning Of The Existing System
We are indeed living in very interesting times.  Social and economic unrest is unfolding before our eyes.  Everywhere we look, we are seeing discontent and a lack of trust.

In short, battles are being waged.

The crypto world was afire yesterday after the actions of Robinhood.  This is causing a massive shift to other exchanges.  In addition to new signups, volume is heavy as the price of Bitcoin exploded higher.

Social media, which set off a fire on its own, is now seeing a case of musical chairs.  People are jumping around as actions are taken against them or their communities.  It is rather interesting to watch.

[As posted yesterday](https://leofinance.io/@taskmaster4450/the-list-of-those-being-silenced-gets-bigger-hive-lurking), Hive is still lurking.  With so many being silenced, they are looking for reliable alternatives.

Ultimately, Hive has what these people want, they just do not know it yet.

When it comes to free speech, and the ability to assemble uninterrupted, this is where Hive excels.  We use terms that these individuals are not interested in yet the topics are vital.  

So what is it they need?  To start, they need a system that cannot close down their accounts.  Check.  Also, a place where their data (posts/conversations) is safe.  Check.  Finally, they need to know their communities cannot be eliminated.  Check.

In short, **we offer them the freedom to assemble and interact as they see fit**.  This is what Hive does.

For now, of course, the game of musical chairs will continue.

They will hop from Reddit to Twitter to Telegram.  Just like the conservatives went from Twitter to Parler, they are not finding a true solution.  They are simply moving from one controlled state to another.

The same is true with the exchanges that people are operating upon.  While the stock market is impossible to switch away from, many are exiting Robinhood and rushing to centralized crypto exchanges.  Here too, an idividual is simply swapping one KYC entity for another.

Nevertheless, it is a phase that people must go through.  The shift from totally centralized to truly decentralized is not happening.  We have to encounter this hybrid situation where people phase in.

Part of the reason is the decentralized world is not ready for the masses.  Quite simply, even though we talked a great deal about that over the years, we did a rather poor job of putting that into action.  Most of our systems in crypto are still extremely centralized.  Sure the blockchain might be running in a decentralized manner yet the rest of the infrastructure is still vulnerable to the usual suspects.

It is evident the recent actions by Big Tech is going to push developers into new projects that address this.  Here we are going to see a major shift over the next couple years in terms of what is offered.  That is going to really open the floodgates to an entirely new system.

Hive is starting to put together a suite of tools that can help move this endeavor forward.  From the most critical perspective, Hive requires decentralized smart contracts that have minimal fees to operate.  It is a step that is presently being addressed. There are  5 projects that I am aware of, 4 which will have testnests running in the next few weeks to try and solve this issue.

People are starting to become aware of just how corrupt our present system truly is.  The situation with WallStreetBets illustrates the interconnectedness of the power base.  In short, there really is not a way around it.  

What we are constructing offers an alternative.  Over the past few weeks, I wrote a number of articles mentioning how the new microblogging application that Leofinance is putting together is really going to help in this endeavor.  It will provide another medium of communication which is extremely popular in the traditional social media world.

Once again, it is something that people need even if they do not realize it yet.  Of course, this is in addition to the Reddit type blogging that is already offered on Hive.

The starting point to tearing down the control system is the free flow of information.  We are in a time when censorship was mounting to the point where only one point of view on things is presented.  This created an echo-chamber on social media which served to help indoctrinate the masses.

This will change as we present people with the ability to post and converse about what they see fit.  Open dialogue covering both sides of an issue is healthy.  People are then free to make up their own minds about what they believe. 

At the same time, corruption is a more difficult time hiding.  When Wall Street can turn to daddy, the government, for protection, we are dealing with a system that is out to screw the masses.  However, with what we are erecting, that is not the case.  When they try this maneuver, the masses will be able to openly voice their concern without fear of being shut down.
 
People are often not aware of what they need.  They simply are too busy focusing upon what they want.  With the WallStreetbets situation, they are returning to the same arena.  From what I understand, Reddit reopened their community, and they flocked right back.  Like Pavlov's dog, they simply adhere to the conditioned behavior.

Ultimately, the pain will be notched up again by social media.  It is inevitable.  We went from politics to finance in a few weeks.  What will be next?  Who will be the next group of people who end up ostracized by the censorship brigade in Silicon Valley?

In the meantime, Hive is building.  We are putting together the features that people need.  This will come to serve us very well in the future.  There will come a time, in the near term, where we can hit up all of these people and offer them a viable solution to what they are presently using.

This will allow them to get out whatever message they desire.

It is the first step in a much larger battle that is presently taking place.

Same as with the crypto youtubers that got their content demonetized a year ago. At first they were desperate for alternatives and when youtube allowed them back they rushed to take their places back.

We don't have the desperation level yet to see these guys flocking to Hive. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't shill it.

I'm doing this for months and will keep on doing. It's the best blockchain that I am aware so far to sustain social media apps that are indeed a free speech haven. 

The microblogging app from Leofinance seems to be launched right on time with all these events around.

That is going to be the game changer in my opinion.  It brings the right elements to the table for what people need.

It is funny how much distrust is out there right now. Trust is earned and so many have lost it never to be seen again. The entire establishment looks corrupt and built on false messages to fool everyone. Hive is in an ideal situation and as you correctly put it people just need to find it.

Hive is like the one girl at school that most people do not notice even once they are in high school. Often times she was made fun of for being awkward and not having as much money as the rest of the girls. 

She had acne, wore glasses, and was very shy. Little did all of the boys know that once adulthood began she would blossom. 

In the future, she now has crystal clear skin. Wears contacts and can finally see without glasses. Most of all she is ready to take down any man that comes in her way because she has already been through it all. 

Hive is this poor little nerdy girl who turns out to be the most successful and beautiful woman later on. Wait and see.

LOL Interesting take.  I agree with you.  There is a lot more here than people realize.

At the same time, we are seeing a great deal developed that is going to present a lot when the transition to hot fox takes place.

Well you have to go to this forum and comment on the existence of hive and its tools to make us notice and give others this useful tool that our developers are building so that they have this other alternative.

When the politicians believe they can do what they want with the help of the big corporations, everyone suffers. Right now, the right is being pushed off and eventually the left will be pushed off when they are not needed anymore. I think HIVE is on the right track, but we lack the appealing applications. I know that work is being done to build them so it is a matter of time more than anything else.

The many frontends we use on Hive are still centralized to a degree and can filter data coming through. But in time I think that will also change. For now we can be assured that our data is immutable on the blockchain, which can't be said about google's servers. We are certainly at the forefront of another digital revolution as big as that time the internet came around.

Basically, I use Twitter and Noise Cash to promote Hive / LeoFinance.

I think a lot of people already know what they need, but they don't take the first step to change the things that they complain about so much (for example, lack of money).
