The Ledger Technology concept is not new.  We talk about this with blockchain which is DLT.  The difference is we are now seeing it as distributed ledger technology instead of centralized.

In this video I discuss how we are following the path of the shadow banking system, something that is more than 70 years old.  This was the Eurodollar system that existed outside any single government or central bank.  It is based upon the USD but is an entire platform of borrowing and lending outside the bounds of any regulator.  Think of it as derivatives without oversight.

There is however, a system of monitoring.  Each individual party is going to have to trust the other in some form.  This is how it operates, until it doesnt.
