We all know what a [job](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-job) is.  This is something that most people dread.  After all, the idea of work, for most, does not sound appealing.


Therefore, it is no surprise when surveys reveal that more than 75% of the people hate their jobs.  Of course, we could easily make the case that many of them, due to technological advancements, will likely lose those.  


In other words, they will be paroled.


We also are aware that [Web 3.0](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0) can be a fantastic opportunity for people.  These are the early days and we are going to see some [networks](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-network) worth a fortune.  The lessons of [Bitcoin](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bitcoin) should be clear: **many crypto millionaires can be made**.


Of course, we have to look at this for more than just a [buy](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-buy) and hold.  To start, many cannot afford to [purchase](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/purchase) [cryptocurrency](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency).  Then we have the fact that many are opting for another path, getting rewarded in the favorite [coins](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-coins) or [tokens](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token).  


This is part of the essence of Web 3.0.  Being rewarded for our efforts as [content creators](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-content-creator) along with having stake in the networks is what separates this from [Web 2.0](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0).  Even if one is lucky enough to get some [payments](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-payment) from either [Twitter](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter) or [YouTube](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-youtube), no stake is given.


Web 3.0 changes this.

## Become An Artist


This is a general rule for life.  Nevertheless, when it comes to content creation, how many approach is like they are an artist?


I would surmise, very few.  This is commonplace since we are dealing with something that is, perhaps, vital to our financial lives.  Plus, we also know that artists are using "starving".  For this reason alone, who in their right mind will go down this path?


That said, if you are in Web 3.0, being in your right mind is long gone.  Hence, the opportunity to take advantage of this is before us.


An artist is focused upon the effort as much as the result.  Consider a [writer](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-writer) like Stephen King.  He churns out book-after-book, for decades on end.  His stuff is enjoyed by millions around the world.  [Movies](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-movie-film) were made out of his creations, come of them having enormous success.  


This is a guy dedicated to his craft.  


I cannot say how much "work" he actually does.  Certainly there have to be days when he doesn't feel like writing.  Here is where I presume discipline enters.  However, beyond this is a different world.


## A Blank Canvass


What would it be like to have a blank canvass in front of you, one which you could do anything you desire?  Isn't this what painters are confronted with? 


In King's case, he has a blank page ([screen](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-screen-film-industry)) and, from that, he can go in any direction he wants.


Also, over time, these artists assemble a portfolio of works.  For authors, it is a library of [books](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-book-) written.  The same is true for [actors](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-actor-actress) and [actresses](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-actor-actress), amassing [screen credits](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-screen-credit).  They keep expanding their resumes, adding more to the mix.


Over time, they can see the expansion.  There is no starting over like in many jobs.  I remember in [sales](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-sales), come the first of the month, whatever happened the 30 days before was wiped out.  Time to start all over again.


Certainly an artist has this with individual projects.  However, the list only keeps growing.  Nobody can take away the previous works. 


Do you approach you efforts on [LEO](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leo) in such a manner?  Are you an artist, looking to create?  After all, we are often presented with a blank screen.  This could be on long form or even the empty box on a thread.  


What are you going to put into it?


Here is where we can shift our mindsets.  Building takes on a different meaning when we are creating.  Artists do not approach things with a [money](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-money) mindset.  That tends to destroy their effectiveness.


Do you think Stephen King sits down and thinks about writing to [sell](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-sell) a million books?  That is probably the furthest thing from his mind.  Instead, he seeks to generate material that his fans will [love](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-love).


I recently watched "The Social Network" again.  For those who never saw it, this was about [Mark Zuckerberg](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-mark-zuckerberg) and the start (hijacking?) of [Facebook](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-facebook).


One thing that struck was the division between him and his marketing guy.  The latter was after money since he was funding the project.  Zuckerberg was taking the approach of how what they were creating was "really cool".


There is a lot of truth in that concept.  I have no idea if this was true but really cool does sell.  Artists do not necessarily approach things thinking about ways to most [profit](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-profit).  Instead, they simply go for something that is cool.


Stephen King mastered this.  Naturally, not everyone is going to be a fan of his work but, for those who are, what he brings out is amazing.  


Perhaps there is a major lesson in this for all of us.
