On the latest episode of the AMA done by [Leofinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance), Khal has some interesting forecasts.

One of the biggest was his hope that the new UI will be fully live (for everyone) by the end of this month.  Keep in mind this is a target and we all know how development can go.

Nevertheless, this is a promising sign since we know a lot of the focus on the new UI is going to be [LeoThreads](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leothreads).

This is a feature on Hive that many of us are excited about.  It led to the target of having 5,000 monthly users on Leofinance by the end of the year.  This would likely make it one of the most active [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain) based, non-gaming or [finance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-finance) applications out there.  So far, [social media](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-social-media) type projects haven't garnered a ton of users.  Even on Hive, we see the community spread out over a number of different [front ends](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-front-end).

### Broad Appeal

[Microblogging](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-microblogging) has much greater appeal than long form content.  This is revolutionary to Hive.  So far, the main focus is on blogging as compared to the popular forms of social media.

This is changing everything.  The activity over the last couple weeks, since it became a bigger focus, seems much increased.  It is a positive sign that could well be enhanced by the upgrade to the UI.

Certainly, since most of us have not seen what is coming (outside of a few screenshots from Khal), we are discussing this in the dark.  However, the promise was that it has an "instant [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter) feel".  If that is the case, then we could well be onto something.

One of the keys moving forward with [Web 3.0](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0) is easy of use.  In this regard, it is vital that we get [applications](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-application) that resemble what people are familiar with.  This is the easiest capture there is.  When playing copycat, it removes the learning curve to a great deal.

We all know that ease of use, or lack thereof, is one of the biggest drawbacks to [cryptocurrency](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency).  [Blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain) is rather complex, with people being overwhelmed by [private keys](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-private-key), [wallets](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-wallet), and an assortment of other terms they do not understand (another reason for [LeoGlossary](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-main-menu)).

If Leofinance can solve this with a Twitter like experience, we could see a massive win coming our way.

### Massive Network Effect

One of the oversights that cold be occuring is how powerful [network effects](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-network-effect) can be.  When it comes to the [digital](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-digital) realm, we can see massive shifts.

How often did we witness an application go from zero to 50 million users within 60 days?  This is a fairly regular occurance. 

Over the past few years, we saw a number of social media projects pop up and gain an instant following.  The key is the long term sustainability.  However, getting people to try something new seems to be getting easier.

That means that as LeoThreads becomes more popular, it is easier to "sell" it to others.  Nobody wants to join a dead platform.  That is why the early activity is crucial.  As the numbers grow, we can see how it has the ability to move up exponentially.

To be honest with you, if the new front end for Leofinance is LeoThread-centric, and it does have an instant Twitter feel to it, then the idea of 5,000 users is a joke.  At that point, the bar should instantly be moved much higher.

After all, if we do not believe this application is worthwhile, why will others?

Also, there is a big of planning required.  Therefore, if the above conditions are met, **we should set out for 1 million users on LeoThreads**.  That might sound like a big number but in the [Web 2.0](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0) world, it is nothing.  

In the end, that is the point.  We get caught up in labels when most users just want something for the experience.  What does an application do for them?

For now, we will have to wait for the update to roll out.  Hopefully the end of the month is hit.  Nevertheless, whenever we see it go live, there is a lot riding on it.  The potential here, for both Leofinance and Hive, is enormous.

If we have a successful product, the bar should be raised.  Preparations must be made.
