Over the last couple weeks, I have been playing with the #news2threads [application](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-application) that is part of the Leo Discord.  This is something that has great potential and could really be a game changer for Leo.


One of the first things that I noticed is how much is used in [resource credits](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-resource-credits-rc).  This is something that many of us long discussed about the future of Hive.  Here we get a bit of insight into to what the potential is.

As we can see some, are drained a great deal.  

So what is new2threads?


## News2Threads 


This is a discord based feature that was built to utilize ChatGPT.

It is a way to generate [threadstorms](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-threadstorm) out of articles from a variety of topics.  The article is fed into the bot which breaks it down into a series of threads.  These are posted on LeoThreads out of specific accounts (listed above).

A few things should stand out.


To start, we are adding more to threads.  It is important to make this an information center and having some news-type content is vital.  


The second point is we see the add there.  This is adding opportunities for people to view pages, helping to increase the ad revenue generated.


Like anything else posted to [threads](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leothreads), this can be voted.  Any author rewards from these accounts are burned.


Finally, they often the potential for people to comment and start a conversation.

The foundation is being laid.  It will require expansion, both in terms of the sites eligible and the number of people involved.


## Sites 


There are a number of sites that are already in the program.  From what I understand, not all can be used simply because the data cannot be pulled in a way that integrates with ChatGPT.  


Also, it is likely that the bot has to be configured for each new site that is added.  For now, we are dealing with these sites:

Again, we are starting with a foundation.  It is obvious more is required especially in the area of news.  Over time, this will likely keep growing.


Another requirement is to get more people involved.  Right now, it is a trial program with only a few of the highest ranked lions.  Here again, we can see the unfolding of this in a bigger way.


By adding more people along with sites to the project, we can see this getting into hundreds per day.  With 4-5 threads per posting, this can form a strong foundation for daily threads.


We can see how the benefits mentioned above can grow as more activity takes place.  


At the top of the list is more resource credits being required to keep it going.  This is something that every project on Hive should strive to do.

## Resource Center


A great deal of the focus right now is making Leo a reference center.  This is one of the things that get people returning to a site.  


If we can get information about what is going on in the world, that is helpful.  One of the benefits of [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter) is that many turn to it for their news.  This happens in real time, with people tweeting about what is happening.


It is something that threads has to incorporate.  While this feature is not breaking news, it does provide a basis for news related information being posted.


Building content from the ground up is what we are doing.  As more of these resources are utilizing, they should help the numbers to improve.  We have achieved a steady level of engagement and pageviews.  The next thing is to push both to the next level.
