One of the features of the reward pool on Hive is that content has a window in which it can be voted.  Here is where [content creators](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-content-creator), and curators, can earn rewards for their activities.  This is limited to the voting window.  After that period, content lacks the ability to be monetized through the [Proof-of-Brain (PoB) mechanism](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-proof-of-brain-pob-mechanism).


Leofinance is changing all that.  No, there is not a way to directly monetize old articles in the sense of voting.  However, we are seeing a new paradigm starting to form.


Now, with the [Leofinance](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) platform, all content had value.  The reason this is so because it exists.  If an article appears, regardless of the age, it can be monetized.


How is this?


We are referring to LeoAds of course.

## Old Content Revitalization


Let us be honest: the Hive method is that once an article is more than 7 days old, it is history.  People do not care much about it.  How many look at Hive as a repository of information?  The answer is very few.


The goal is to get as many rewards as possible and move on.  This is something that was noticeable for years.


[Layer 2](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-layer-2) has the potential to change this.  So far, replication was brought to the table in having [tokens](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) also utilizing the PoB system.  This helps to distribute the token to members of the community which is a powerful approach.


It does not, however, solve the problem of dead content.


LeoAds does.


Here we see a mechanism being put in place that can help to [monetize](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-monetization) older articles.  They can generate clicks the same as any other page, adding to the total.  We know there is a monetary value for the ad revenue pool based upon those clicks.  Therefore, anything that goes viral, no matter when it was created, can help the present [revenue](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-revenue) window.


Along the same lines, what is the lifetime click rate of some of the older articles.  What happens if we have some pages getting thousands of views over time?


This all adds up.

## LeoGlossary


I would be remiss without mentioning this in our discussion.


One of the models that I was operating from when it came to the creation of [LeoGlossary](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-main-menu) was the idea of ad revenues and getting a repository of information.  This is crucial when you look at creating a reference center.


The idea is similar to what many glossary-type sites do.  Wikipedia is the top banana in this regard.  What happens when you go to a page?  Typically, as you are reading, you find something else to click on.  Where does that take you?  To another Wikipedia page.


How many of us have spent an hour or more researching a topic and clicking around Wikipedia?  Many of us have done that exact thing.


Imagine that being on Leofinance.  We know that each click has a value.  Now times that by roughly 2,900 pages which are in LeoGlossary.  What is the lifetime clicks that we can generate?


The answer is that we can see that get into the hundreds of thousands over the course of a year if the pages become popular.  Think of how that alters the site.

By the way, how many of you visited Investopedia?  This is not the most popular of sites and doesn't rank with Wikipedia.  It is well know though.

## In Conclusion


We have a lot of things going for us with Leofinance.  There are many different directions we are moving at the same time.  This might seem a bit scattered but it all adds up .


Pageviews are the new medium for Leofinance.  Of course, this is tapping into what was the domain of [Web 2.0](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-2-0), but with a [Web 3.0](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0) twist.  The key to remember is that each holder of [Leo Power](https://leofinance.io/posts/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leo-power) benefits from any increases in ad revenue.


Older content has extreme value.  Many of the pageviews are from stuff being created at the moment.  However, with older articles along with LeoGlossary, we can see how they can generate revenue without any additional effort.  


The key is to get the links going and spread them around.  Basically, we need many roads leading to Leofinance.
