Hello everyone in this awesome black and white community. How are you guys today? I hope that all of you are doing great. This is another black and white studio portraiture. This photo was taken during my early days of photography. It was on August 2017. This was after a year that I joined the photography course. The photography course that I took was 18 months long. We were given allowance and access to studio and lightings. Only that we need to have our own camera. During that time I am using the Canon 70D DSLR camera. I am getting used on for the studio lightings and environment during this time. I tried to create some dramatic shoot but I guess its not that dramatic yet. Since I am using this entry level DSLR camera, the quality of the image taken was not sharp enough comparing to a full frame with a good glass.

Gambar ini diambil semasa awal fotografi saya. Ia adalah pada Ogos 2017. Ini adalah selepas setahun saya menyertai kursus fotografi. Kursus fotografi yang saya ambil adalah selama 18 bulan. Kami diberi elaun dan akses kepada studio dan lampu. Cuma kita perlu ada kamera sendiri. Pada masa itu saya menggunakan kamera DSLR Canon 70D. Saya sedang membiasakan diri dengan pencahayaan studio dan persekitaran pada masa ini. Saya cuba membuat beberapa penggambaran dramatik tetapi saya rasa ia belum begitu dramatik lagi. Memandangkan saya menggunakan kamera DSLR peringkat permulaan ini, kualiti imej yang diambil tidak cukup tajam berbanding bingkai penuh dengan kaca yang baik.

Meet Ivy, she looks like a shy person but actually she was an energetic person and a talkative person. During this photo session I did not need to do any warm up shoot for her. She just naturally do her pose. Her face expression was really good too. 

>Bertemu Ivy, dia kelihatan seperti seorang yang pemalu tetapi sebenarnya dia seorang yang bertenaga dan seorang yang suka bercakap. Semasa sesi bergambar ini saya tidak perlu melakukan sesi memanaskan badan untuknya. Dia secara semula jadi melakukan posenya. Ekspresi wajahnya juga sangat baik.

This photo session studio setup was using only two light. One main light using the 120 octa sofbox and another 60cm by 90cm rectangle softbox. The hard part during this photo session was when I tried to balance the highlight from her white wardrobe and the overall part of her body. Plus the black background it makes the contras from both subject and background very high. I had to adjust the light for several times before I managed to get a balance light illumination at the overall of her body.

>Persediaan studio sesi foto ini hanya menggunakan dua cahaya. Satu lampu utama menggunakan sofbox 120 octa dan satu lagi kotak lembut segi empat tepat 60cm x 90cm. Perkara yang sukar semasa sesi bergambar ini adalah apabila saya cuba mengimbangi kemuncak dari almari pakaiannya yang putih dan keseluruhan bahagian tubuhnya. Ditambah latar belakang hitam ia menjadikan kontras dari kedua-dua subjek dan latar belakang sangat tinggi. Saya terpaksa melaraskan cahaya beberapa kali sebelum saya berjaya mendapatkan pencahayaan cahaya yang seimbang pada keseluruhan tubuhnya.

I am amazed on how she can pose using the chair. She asked me if it is alright to use it as a props and of course I allowed her to take it and used it as a props. She was naturally changing her pose during the photo session. After every click on the shutter, she changed her pose including her face expression. She was a natural for a photoshoot model in my opinion. 

>Saya kagum bagaimana dia boleh bergambar menggunakan kerusi. Dia bertanya kepada saya sama ada boleh menggunakannya sebagai alat peraga dan sudah tentu saya membenarkan dia mengambilnya dan menggunakannya sebagai alat peraga. Dia secara semula jadi menukar pose semasa sesi bergambar. Selepas setiap klik pada pengatup, dia menukar pose termasuk ekspresi mukanya. Dia adalah seorang yang semula jadi untuk model pemotretan pada pendapat saya.

During the photo session I never had asked her for a specific pose. Only that every time she changed a pose, she need to be at least faced to the main light. 

>Semasa sesi bergambar saya tidak pernah memintanya untuk pose tertentu. Cuma setiap kali dia menukar pose, dia perlu sekurang-kurangnya berhadapan dengan cahaya utama.

This last photo was my favorite. The face expression and the emotion suits perfectly with her pose and the lightings. This photo really gives me the '1001 story' in a photo. I did give her all of the photo during this shoot and this is the one she love the most.

>Foto terakhir ini adalah kegemaran saya. Ekspresi wajah dan emosinya sangat sesuai dengan pose dan pencahayaannya. Foto ini benar-benar memberi saya '1001 cerita' dalam foto. Saya memang memberikannya semua gambar semasa penggambaran ini dan ini adalah foto yang paling dia suka.<br>
