Do you have any gold? ( part 1)

This little correction in the crypto market reminds me of why I starting stacking precious metals in the first place.

I believe to start accumulating wealth you must have a strong foundation to start building your financial house.

The reason I choose gold and silver to start my wealth-building foundation has to do with the history of gold and how it always, for thousands of years, maintains its purchasing power.

## I have a good foundation, now what do I do?

Now that I have a good foundation it's time to build on top of it. I want something else that people will accept for payments of goods and services. This will help me preserve my foundation so it's always there for collateral or emergencies.

Cash or my local Fiat currency works very well for this. You can use cash without being tracked by your greedy socialist government that wants to take your hard-earned money and give it to someone else, without your interests being represented.

#### Is it time to invest now that I have a good foundation and plenty of cash saved?

At this moment in history, I feel there are no safe ways to invest, almost all investments are overvalued, **and in my opinion**, should be avoided.

Part 2 will be about speculating on stocks and cryptos, this is how I make a bigger foundation for my financial house without having to leave my little kingdom.

I will use your comments and arguments for part 2 of this post.

Sold a bit of gold a few years ago when I needed liquid, crypto's what I've got now and that's where I see a future. Gold, as you say, has held its value, #1 tier and all, but re portability, a truckload value of heavy gold would fit into a tiny lightweight hardware wallet when it is crypto.

That is true and a very good reason to use bitcoin, just trying to leave a country with your gold is very challenging. Just don't lose it or your password, keep it dry and away from the elements, or it is lost.

Had originally meant to comment from Krunk and didn't realise I was barge at the time lol... 

AFAIK, if you lose a hardware wallet but still have your backup string, you can just replace the wallet and restore it using the string...ie. destruction of wallet is not the end. [Some info about that here](https://www.thecryptomerchant.com/blogs/resources/hardware-wallet-recovery-seeds-explained).

I know how much you love gold it surprises me you haven't got a gold pan and go away on weekends panning for gold. I believe Gold will always hold it's value as compared to all the other precious metals so little has been mined . The price seems to just get higher and higher after every correction in the market. The only Gold I have is in jewelry which is not really the point lol.

That is something I do plan on doing someday, I think it would be fun to pan for gold as a hobby. I'm just worried that people are getting too comfy with risky assets and are not protecting themselves. Bitcoin is like a little baby compared to grampa gold.

I also plan on doing it as it looks like real fun. Don't mind metal detecting either as not only do you get exercise but the thrill of the hunt. Bitcoin and crypto are high risk compared to gold and always under threat from some smart hacker.

Well gold is gold, I feel it helps you to store value better especially if your wealth is enormous, I haven't heard of average people store money in gold. It also has a restricted or limited number of people buying but then I believe it'll stay valuable for a long time
