## Private sector

As an English teacher, I have been working in private sector for 4 years. Today, I have felt the need to talk about difficulties that lots of teachers are facing in private sector. Although there are many good things about teaching in private sector, there are also many problems that we have to deal all the time. First of all, when we compare the conditions in private sector with the ones in public sector, I can say that teaching in private sector is much more difficult.

Salaries are unfortunately not so well in private sector. As owners of language schools and courses usually think that it is possible to replace your place with someone else, they don't prefer to pay a lot in return of your effort at work. That is quite disappointing, when teachers feel down with the insufficient salary they get, they don't feel motivated at work which affects students a lot indeed.

## Working hard!

Even though teachers don't get paid well in private institutions, they have to put a lot of effort in making students happy and satisfied with their learning progress. When I consider my situation, I have to work at evenings since some of my students are university students. They don't have time during the day so they have to come to lesson at night which forces me to work at evening every single day.

When you work this much hard, you don't have a social life. Imagine yourself working really hard and getting insufficient salary at the same time. Do you think it is a good life to live? Well, that is really problematic. That's why, I always say that teaching is one of the hardest things since you have to think about your personal life which you can't live much and your students' life as you are responsible for them.

## Competition

There is always a big competition between teachers. You have to improve yourself all the time if you want to be permanent at your job. It is actually both good and bad thing. It is good because you can improve yourself all the time, learning new techniques to be more beneficial for your students. When I think about my situation at work, I can say that it really helps myself a lot to advance in teaching.

However, it also puts a lot of pressure on teachers. When you make a mistake, your students might feel down with your attitude and inform the management about this. To sum up, no matter how tired you are, you have to be careful with your all moves inside and outside the class all the time. As I am experienced in my teaching career, I don't face with this problem a lot, but there are some colleagues of mine who have lost their job because of some similar problems.

## Money and education

As money is the priority for the institution you are working for, they might ask you to end the class earlier than normal finishing time or put more pressure in speeding the classes. In this case, teachers feel that they can't concentrate on their work. In the school I am working for at the moment, we are trying to build some lines separating education and marketing departments , it should be same in all language schools.

In addition to this, teachers always have to be prepared for their lessons. When you hear about this, you might say that it is totally normal, but teachers working in private institutions have to manage 2 or 3 classes at the same time. When you have this kind of days, you might have tendency to make mistakes. As you can see in all these examples, it is really hard to work as a teacher in private sector.

@broncofan99 ·
Thanks for the article. I have never taught in the private sector but have spoken with people who do. They find it to be stressful at times because they are constantanly being checked on and the parents expectations can be much higher considering the fact that they pay money. They have access to better resources most times and although they deal with some behaviours they have minimal issues with students. Thanks for sharing and supporting @steemiteducation

@dedicatedguy ·
I understand the hard work that all teachers must do in order to keep up with their job. But, for example in the case of teachers in school, they do get more vacation time than a person working in an office right? Because they share the same vacation time than the students, so this way the job also has its perks in my opinion.

@solomonsel ·
Believe me that is not a perk. The holidays are needed to retain sanity. The amount of work, pressure and stress teachers are faced with across the world far surpasses most office jobs. Holidays are not a perk or luxury but a necessity. And we only go on holidays during December. During the entire year we have extra classes called holiday support classes so teachers have no rest. Am I wrong here @teachblogger?

@saracampero ·
Great article @teachblogger, However, while teachers of public schools protest, the thousands of teachers working in private schools must continue their work, often in unfair conditions, with bad wages or with tasks that exceed their commitments.

Thank you for the support provided to all the people who strive every day to convey their educational message in the best way, this will continue to support the education of our children and strengthen their self-esteem.

 God bless you and continue to fill you with success.

### Greetings.

It's really the same across the entire teaching profession, whether private or public. I am a public sector teacher and I've considered migrating to the private sector because of all the issues and conditions we are faced with in our profession. But it sounds like we are in the same boat.
