CoinDesk, which broke the story of FTX's problems, is to be sold. It's part of Digital Currency Group, which owns Genesis, the lending platform which lent money to Alameda/FTX and has lost the lot, putting DCG in trouble. CoinDesk was making about $50 million in annual revenue from a mix of traditional online advertising and its popular Consensus conference. Hopefully CoinDesk finds a new owner and the journalists keep their jobs. It would be too awful if they were rewarded for such an important scoop with losing their jobs.
